NEW Beverly Hills Cop trailer: Axel F surprised fans with subtle callback.
Eddie Murphy, 63, returns as Detective Alexander James “Axel” Foley in the fourth installment of Beverly Hills Cop.
In the latest trailer released by Netflix, the foul-mouthed Detroit cop revisits California and reunites with former detective John Taggart (John Ashton).
The two reluctantly work together to save John’s ex-partner Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) from trouble.
Perfect Strangers actor Bronson Pinchot reprises his role as Axel’s friend Serge, and Paul Reiser (Mad About You) returns as Detective Jeffrey Friedman.
The footage is filled with homages to the original ’80s crime comedy, including Axel’s Detroit Lions jacket, German musician Harold Faltermey’s electronic theme, and an homage to Wonder World amusement park.
At one point in the trailer, The Pointer Sisters’ song Neutron Dance can be heard in the trailer.
In 1984, the hit track was featured on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack, and the singing sensation made a music video for the film.

‘CRAZY TRUCK CHASE SCENE’
In March 2020, singer Ruth Pointer, 78, spoke about the music’s legacy with Pop is important.
She discussed how the track came about with co-songwriter Allee Willis.
I think just the gospel spirit in that track made that song and worked for that crazy truck chase scene in the movie.
