Still Up followed best friends Lisa and Danny, who suffer from insomnia.

According to the show’s synopsis, the pair “stay connected late into the night and find their way into a world of wonderfully strange surprises as their relationship deepens.”

The Good Doctor star Antonia Thomas played Lisa, described as “an impulsive, free-spirited aspiring illustrator whose doubts about her daughter’s future begin to keep her up at night.”

Actor Craig Roberts played her love interest, Danny, a “socially anxious but talented journalist.”

Their relationship was supposed to be the backbone of the series, but Apple canceled the show after just eight episodes, Deadline reported.

But although Lisa and Danny may go their separate ways, their colleagues, Antonia and Craig, will continue to work together.

Antonia will star in an upcoming comedy-horror film titled The Scurry, in a cast that also includes Rhys Ifans and Olivia Cooke.

Craig is set to direct the film, which follows a pair of pest controllers called in for what is initially a routine problem.

However, when night falls, the crazed squirrels wreak their own destruction.

Amazon cancels fan-favorite teen drama inspired by Tegan and Sara despite rave reviews and the show being hailed as a ‘gem’

DISAPPEARING

It’s been a tough season for streaming shows.

Just a day earlier, Amazon pulled the plug on the coming-of-age drama High School, based on the 2019 memoir by twin siblings Tegan and Sara Quin.

The show’s only season aired on Amazon-owned Freevee.

The series starred twin sisters Railey and Seazynn Gilliand and showed Tegan and Sara’s childhood and musical development.

We’re thrilled to be able to tell this story to its epic conclusion.”

Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B acquired the 2019 TV memoir shortly after its release.

The eight-episode first season premiered on October 14, 2021, and received rave reviews.

The show received a rare 100% fresh from Rotten Tomatoes, along with a corresponding 94% fan rating.

PROBLEM SOLVED

Meanwhile, Netflix also axed 3 Body Problem, one of its popular shows.

Luckily for fans, the streaming service has ordered some additional episodes to tie up any loose ends.

3 Body Problem stars Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Rosalind Chao and Liam Cunningham on a science fiction adventure.

Its storyline saw Rosalind’s character respond to contact from an alien at a secret military camp.

But this had consequences, forcing scientists to confront humanity’s greatest threat.

In a statement, the producers said: “We are thrilled to be able to tell this story to its epic conclusion.

“Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we’ve been hoping to take audiences to the end of the universe with us. Here we go!”

It is not yet known how many episodes the final order will involve.
