A HUGE series of new Netflix shows have been axed by the streaming service.
However, not everything was bad News as the global platform recently released a major update regarding a popular returning series.
Big shows like comedy series Blockbuster, action-horror series Resident Evil, and dramatic thriller The Midnight Club were all previously axed.
Resident Evil received mostly negative reviews from fans and critics and Blockbuster struggled to get significant viewers to tune in.
Despite being made by the creator of The Haunting Of Hill House, Mike Flanagan’s The Midnight Club didn’t match the success of his first thriller on the platform.
Other programs, such as the German science fiction series 1989, were also rejected due to high production costs and audiences that did not meet expectations.
Now, Netlfix has canceled a dozen K-drama and comedy series after fans expected them to be renewed.
The list included a Business Proposal that focuses on an employee who goes on a blind date in her friend’s place, only to discover that her boyfriend is actually her boss.
Crash Landing on You is another show tackling the scam, which focuses on a South Korean heiress who accidentally lands in North Korea after a paragliding incident.
Romance shows to face the ax include Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Something in the Rain and The King’s Affection.
This while other drama programs that have not been renewed include Café Minamdang, Mine, My Liberation Notes, Our Blues and Thirty-Nine and Tomorrow.
Survive the Island is the reality show that featured 24 strong women competing in one last permanent group challenge.
They were divided into six teams according to their occupation, which included sectors such as Police, firefighters, bodyguards, soldiers, athletes and stuntmen.
However, one success story has been Love, Death & Robots, a show that gained a significant cult following after its 2019 premiere.
The anthology series received much praise from fans because of the high-quality animation production and the series’ unique format.
The filmmakers were given the freedom to explore a variety of different ideas without the typical restrictions seen on TV.
After winning more than a dozen Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Netflix has ordered a fourth outing of the show in August 2022.
Viewers have yet to see the new content, but the new installment is expected to contain nine individual episodes.
While no release date has been revealed yet, fans can expect to see the tried-and-true formula of fantasy, horror, and sci-fi mixed with dark comedy elements.
