Set in 1969, the cast includes Kristen Wiig, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb and Amber Chardae Robinson.

Meanwhile, the star-studded line-up also characteristics Oscar winners Laura Dern and Alison Janney, as well as legendary comedian Carol Burnett.

Apple TV+ confirmed the renewal of Palm Royale for a second season.

The story follows an outsider, Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons (played by Kristen Wiig), who tries to find a place in the high society of Palm Beach, Florida.

She tries to do this through the city’s most exclusive country club, the Palm Royale.

However, in the process, she learns what she will and won’t do in her efforts to achieve that goal.

Kristen Wiig is perhaps best known for participating in the long-running sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2005 to 2012.

She starred in and co-wrote the 2011 comedy film Bridesmaids, earning nominations for the Golden Globe for Best Actress and the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

The star has also appeared in Knocked Up, the Despicable Me franchise, Wonder Woman 1984 and Paul – the latter starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

As for Palm Royale, Abe Sylvia created the show based on the 2018 novel Mr and Mrs American Pie by Juliet McDaniel.

In addition to her starring role, the Jurassic Park actress Laura Dern also serves as executive producer of Palm Royale.

His father, Oscar, Bafta and Golden Globe nominee Bruce Dern, also had a role in the show.

Speaking about the renewal, Laura said: “We are thrilled to hear about season two.
