Miley, 31, opened up about her family — especially her dad Billy Ray and mom Tish — and didn’t hesitate to take sides.
When asked if she ever saw her father as her hero, Miley simply stated, “I mean, honestly, my mom is my hero.”
She added diplomatically, “My dad…I’m grateful I get to watch him before I do.
‘He almost gave me this map, and it’s a map of what to do and what not to do, and he guided me through both.”
O film star also shared, “Without my dad, I know… who I am as a person wouldn’t exist.” Because my dad as a creative and as an artist, and the way his brain works has always made me feel more secure in my own mind.”
However, Miley made it clear that Tish was the mother who raised her, according to ET.
“My father had a very difficult childhood, and my childhood – I mean, we can talk about the hard times or the struggles… but I had food, I had love, I grew up in a beautiful big house and my father didn’t have that,” she said, comparing her parents’ contrasting roles in her life.
Miley also jokingly shared that she inherited a bad personality trait from Billy.
David asked Miley about her transformative role as Hannah Montana, with Miley moving to Los Angeles as a child for the Disney paper.
Miley couldn’t remember which family members joined her in the big move and revealed: “I also inherited my father’s narcissism.
“I don’t know anything about my own brothers except the part I was playing… I was moving to Los Angelesand that’s all I really knew.”

Last year, Miley and Billy Ray weren’t on speaking terms.
Billy Ray and Trish filed for divorce for the third time in 2022, and officially ended their married.
