The trailer for Disney+’s long-awaited dramedy Rivals has finally been released, and it looks raunchier than anyone could have imagined.

An eight-part series, based on the books by best-selling author Dame Jilly Cooper, viewers will get a peek into the flamboyant and glitzy antics of the elite in the 1980s. England.

The show stars a host of British TV favourites, led by acting legend and former EastEnders star Danny Dyer and comedian and The Inbetweeners star Emily Atack.

Skins heartthrob Luke Pasqualino also leads the cast who follow the raucous antics of those in fictional Rutshire.

David Tennant also appears as the character Tony, who is locked in a fierce battle with his enemy, Rupert, played by Alex Hassell.

The streaming giant has not yet confirmed the show’s release date, but it has already started to generate excitement.

In a synopsis to preview the series, Disney wrote: “The story is set against the backdrop of drama, excess and shocking antics of the power-grabbing social elite of 1980s England.

“In the fictional county of Rutshire, a long-running rivalry between two powerful men is about to explode.

“Alex Hassell plays the dashing former Olympian, Conservative Member of Parliament and incorrigible rake, the dangerously charismatic Rupert Campbell-Black.

“David Tennant plays Rupert’s stubbornly ambitious and selfish neighbor, Lord Tony Baddingham, controller of Corinium. Television.

“A long boil power the fight between them threatens to explode when the two men collide on the future of Corinius.”

Sex and scandal are at the heart of the series, with the show’s trailer featuring a number of suggestive and eye-popping moments.

One of the show’s stars previously admitted how the show used 30% of the world’s intimacy coordinators for the prank-fueled show.

Rivals is set to release on Disney+ later this year.
