Great British Bake Off presenter Noel Fielding, 51, recently starred in The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin.

The historic comedy the series followed the life of his character, Dick Turpin, leader of the infamous Essex gang.

He committed several petty crimes alongside a team of lovable crooks in a bid to become England’s greatest highwayman.

The protagonist is also pursued by Jonathan Wilde, the thief-hunting general, played by Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville.

This is coupled with a secret criminal organization called The Syndicate who are also after him as he goes through the ups and downs of a celebrity reputation.

Now, the global company has greenlit a follow-up installment, following the success of the first series.

Other stars of the series include BAFTA-nominated actress Jessica Hynes and Sex Education star Connor Swindells.

Shameless star David Threlfall and Motherland comedian Diane Morgan also had major roles in the series.

This comes as the future of The Great British Bake Off – which Noel has presented since 2017 – was confirmed in April.

Channel 4 reached a deal with producers Love Productions to keep the show going after fears it could have been taken over by a foreign streamer.

A TV source revealed: “Love Productions, who make Bake Off, really want to make the show as accessible as possible for the army of devotees who have loyally supported them over the last 14 years.

“So despite rumors of multi-million pound deals with streamers, they decided to stick with Channel 4, where the whole nation can tune in to what is now considered a national treasure.

“C4 and Love Productions are now working out the details, but are working on the basis that everything will remain as is.”

This was after Noel gained a notable new co-host, Alison Hammond, when she replaced Little Britain star Matt Lucas.
