Boys viewers ‘furious’ about season 4 finale ‘cliffhanger’ as fans ‘wish they’d stopped watching’ the show

SEASON 4 of The Boys came to an end after eight episodes and fans were left wanting answers.

The Amazon Prime Video show left viewers speechless after delivering a shocking cliffhanger after the credits.

The eighth episode, titled “Assassin Run”, had the boys being kidnapped by Cindy, Sam Riordan and Cate Dunlap.

The boys will likely be taken to the same prisons as Marie Moreau, Emma Meyer, Jordan Li and Andre Anderson.

But that wasn’t the most shocking part.

Sans Starlight, the only member of The Boys who was not captured, is seen driving into the night with Kessler in the backseat.

If viewers had waited just a few more seconds after the credits rolled, they would have been met with a shocking scene.

Homelander enters a laboratory and finds his father, Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, in a cryogenic tank.

“Are you kidding me?” he shakes his head. “All this time.”

Homelander looked at his father, who had his eyes closed and was only wearing white underwear, and tears formed in his eyes.

The Boys then cut to more credits, leaving fans on a huge cliffhanger.

‘THIS IS CRAZY’

Boys fans were angry that the show ended on a cliffhanger, especially after a two-year wait.

Viewers commented about this on X.

“Catching up with the boys before the last few episodes just to be left on that cliffhanger is crazy,” said one fan.

“What the fuck was that Boys final?” asked another.

“The end of Boys S4 made me very sick. I didn’t expect any of this,” added a third.

“Having to wait 2 years for The Boys season 5 after that cliffhanger,” wrote another.

“How do you expect someone to wait 2 years after that moment of anguish? #TheBoys,” one fan tweeted.

“Naaaaah #TheBoys got me fucked if they think I’m going to wait AT LEAST TWO YEARS for the final season after that cliffhanger,” said another.

“I’m so mad. What do you mean I have to wait two years to see how this ends? #TheBoys?” asked one last fan.

RETURNING?

Jensen, 46, debuted on the streaming show in season 3.

He was in eight episodes as Soldier Boy.

Homelander and Soldier Boy got into a fight at the end of Season 3, which led to Soldier Boy being gassed and sealed in a tube where he remained in stasis.

He didn’t die, as fans saw in the Season 4 finale, the first time he’s appeared since Season 3.

The producers don’t have much time to work on Soldier Boy’s story, as The Boys is ending with Season 5.

Series creator Eric Kripke announced the cancellation in June on X.

“#TheBoys Season 4 premiere week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the last! It was always my plan, I just had to be cautious until I got final approval from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to fruition a bloody, wet, epic climax Watch season 4 in 2 DAYS, because the end has begun! he wrote.

Fans will have to wait two more years for the final season, as Eric said Variety that they will be filmed in November and until 2025.
