NETFLIX bosses have gutted their pricing strategies and introduced a huge change for viewers.
The streaming site is ditching its basic ad-free plan in favor of a more expensive model, dealing a crushing blow to users.
Currently, fans can watch all their favorite films and TV shows from £6.99 a month without having to watch any ads.
But that will no longer happen under Netflix’s latest plans.
Starting in August, the basic plan will be abandoned in favor of a total of three options, the Standard with ads, the Standard without ads and the Premium plan.
Revealing the changes, a statement from Netflix says: “The Basic plan is no longer available to new or returning members. If you are currently on the Basic plan, you can remain on this plan until your plan is changed or your account is cancelled. “
An ad-supported plan will be the cheapest option fans can get at just £4.99.
With the £6.99 option now gone, the next The best thing to tune in without a barrage of ads is the £10.99 package.
For this price, you can get uninterrupted full HD viewing and stream on two devices at the same time.
Or if you want to spend a lot, you can pay up to £17.99 for the same benefits but upgraded to Ultra HD, as well as streaming on four devices with the additional option of downloading content on six.
O News It comes as Netflix releases a colossal list of all the shows it plans to eliminate before August.
Fans should prepare to say goodbye to some of the top comedy films of the 2000s, including The Devil Wears Prada, The Guilt Trip and Easy A.
Netflix viewers should also be prepared to miss Brad Pitt’s 2016 WWII thriller Allied and the 2021 sports drama King Richard, starring Will Smith and based on the childhoods of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams.
