Madonna is on ‘surgical hiatus’ except for ‘noticeable’ lip changes from onstage kiss that could have cost at least $15K

Madonna’s kiss with a dancer during the tour finale could have cost thousands because her lips weren’t up to the job, an injectables expert has said.

She said recreating the historic 2003 VMA moment with Britney Spears meant hiring a specialist at the Rio extravaganza to adjust the star’s “misshapen lips.”

Madonna, 65, performed a free show for 1.6 million on Saturday on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro.

She sang her classics throughout the two-hour set.

The Brazilian show was the biggest she has ever done in her 40-year career.

Madonna kissed one of her backup dancers, who was topless.

Nurse Tara Adashev, APRN at Neinstein Plastic Surgerysaid Madonna could be trying to get her “lips back on track” for her big moment.

Madonna has faced repeated speculation about her drastic face change for years.

“With the Copacobana Kiss in 2024, there was probably a lot of focus on Madonna’s lips and her appearance,” Adashev told The US Sun.

“Madonna may have also noticed her lips while on tour.

“Madonna’s lips are already enlarged in some way.

“That is if she had some hyaluronic filler, which would add volume and reduce these lines.

“These fillers may have migrated, which always deforms the lips.

“Face and features are difficult, so when you do something that goes wrong, it’s hard to get it back on track.”

PRACTICE LEADS TO PERFECTION

Madonna and her dancer were on stage as they practiced kissing during soundcheck.

Dressed in fishnet stockings, the Queen of Pop ran her hands over the dancer’s body and the two kissed.

“Madonna tried to make this kiss pose repeatedly and without aging her,” Adashev added.

“This kissing pose would use a lot of lip muscles.

“Maybe Botox was used to slow down muscle movement.

The injector may have come in to counteract any asymmetries in the filling.

“For her possible deformed lower lip, some fillers and Botox may have been injected into the depressor muscle – or the muscles around the lips.

“Sometimes it changes a person’s muscles.

“Maybe Madonna tried to counteract this with fillers in her lower lip and chin to pull down the depressor muscle.”

LIP SERVICE

Adashev suggested that Madonna may have taken an injector to Brazil to correct lip filler problems.

“The injector may have gone in to counteract any asymmetries with the filling,” she said.

“This could have been done during the tour and is a quick procedure.

“Madonna would have used someone she knows, or would have had someone traveling with them.

“She probably could have flown them there at the end of the tour.

“His current lips and correction could have cost up to $5,000, while any previous lip surgery could have cost around $15,000.”

Madonna has been sharing clips and images online since the start of her tour in London in October 2023.

The lucrative extravaganza included 81 shows around the world.

After her Miami show in April, Madonna posted a photo on Instagram.

Looking at photos of Madonna, it looks like there was some surgical removal, like a lip lift.

She tilted the camera to her forehead and her bottom lip appeared to protrude.

“Looking 20 again,” said a second.

SHIP SHAPE

Adashev noted that the singer appeared to have had surgical removal work done on her lips.

“Looking at photos of Madonna, it looks like there was some surgical removal, like a lip lift,” she said.

“To match the skin of the upper lip, to give more height to the upper lip.

“This gives her lips a new shape, a significant change from the previous photos.

“That work probably would have been before the tour because Madonna would have had that scar and needed some downtime.

“Madonna would have been told to rest.”

Madonna is almost unrecognizable from the new pop star who exploded onto the music scene more than 20 years ago.

She became famous in the 1980s for chart-topping tracks like Borderline.

Dr. Richard Westreich told The US Sun that Madonna may have spent more than $100,000 on surgery.

This included facelifts, brow lifts, fillers and lip augmentations.

Madonna faced a lot of backlash after the 2023 Grammys. Fans discussed Madonna’s revamped look online.

“If they didn’t announce this [that] it was Madonna, I would have no idea who this person was who performed at the Grammys,” wrote one X user.

Until then, Madonna never admitted to having any work done on her face.

“I’m certainly not against plastic surgery. However, I am absolutely against having to discuss the matter,” she said in 2012.

She was giving her body a chance to rest, so her face was healing.

Madonna posted a photo on Twitter and admitted that she “didn’t look like herself” at the Grammys.

“Look how cute I look now that the swelling from the surgery has gone down. Haha,” she said.

REST FACE

Adashev stated that Madonna was off work after back-to-back surgery.

“For the rest of her face, I think she was definitely on a surgical hiatus from having additional surgeries from the photos,” she said.

“There was a period where it seemed like she was having too many surgeries in a row.

“She was giving her body a chance to rest, so her face was healing.

“Madonna’s face has been the same for the past few months.

“But the noticeable lip was the only thing I could see that was different.”

The mother of six’s sold-out celebration tour highlights her continued iconic status.

Given Madonna’s age and musical style, there may be more scrutiny on how she looks and moves on stage.

“I think she takes really good care of herself,” Adashev added.

“She looks much younger than before.

“Madonna can use the best chefs, nutritionists and trainers.”

CUTTING

Adashev said the only spot on Madonna that “stands out because of her age” is her armpit area.

“[That’s] genetic – some people don’t have collagen,” she said.

“It’s difficult to fix without cutting the skin and leaving a scar, but it can be hidden and tattooed on top.

“It’s from the armpit to the elbow, in the middle of the arm.

“Cutting it will remove the skin and improve the crepey appearance.

“Perhaps because of her costumes and the nature of her industry, Madonna didn’t want the scar.

“So maybe she would have done as many non-surgical options as possible for that area.”
