KIM Kardashian and Kanye West were cruel when putting their daughter North West on stage at the Hollywood Bowl last weekend, according to a parenting expert.

The 10-year-old’s performance was met with some not-so-flattering reviews and accusations of “nepo baby” – but the pro says this is all mom and dad’s fault.

A performance in honor of The Lion King’s 30th anniversary took place at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, May 26.

Stars from both versions of the film – including Nathan Lane, Billy Eichner and Jeremy Irons – took the stage at the star-studded event.

And rounding out the cast list were “special guests” Jennifer Hudson and Kim and Kanye’s eldest child, North West.

North smiled as he walked out as Simba, singing his part in I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.

But as clips from the show spread across social media, viewers heard some harsh words.

“I don’t like the fact that she got this just based on her mom or dad,” one wrote.

“There’s a kid out there with real talent who should have been given this opportunity. And no, I’m not a hater, I actually like the Kardashians,” wrote another.

“Aw man… I feel bad for the kids who are really talented and could have nailed this,” said a third.

But parenting expert Kirsty Ketley says that even if this is a case of a “nepo baby” in the spotlight, people should leave the North.

Instead, they should focus the criticism where it belongs – on her parents.

Kirsty shared her opinion with The US Sun…

Although North appeared to be loving every minute of it, it appears those who watched her performance were less than impressed and took to the Internet to share their disgust.

So, is it nepotism at its best, as those commenting online suggest?

Most likely, though there’s no official word on how North got the role.

It is her mother and father who are responsible, and they are the ones who should be criticized, not North West.

There’s only the suggestion that his mother and father (and a generous payday to the casting director) may have made it happen.

But should a ten-year-old girl be trolled? No way!

Regardless of how North ended up on that stage and how well she performed (or didn’t), she’s still only ten years old and was clearly having the time of her life – what’s there to be upset about?

The Kardashians are not shy when it comes to the spotlight, and we often see North West performing.

Sometimes that’s with her dad, Kayne, or on the TikTok she shares with her mom.

She recently revealed that she is following in her father’s footsteps and releasing her debut album, Elementary School Dropout.

It seems clear that North wants to do all of these things and, for the most part, enjoys being the center of attention.

Putting her on stage in front of thousands of people watching in a stadium and allowing her to face such harsh and ridiculous criticism, at just ten years old, is cruel.

But although it may seem to most people that she is too young to be thrust under the scrutiny of the world, it is not her fault.

It is her mother and father who are responsible, and they are the ones who should be criticized, not North West.

Right now, North West is living her best ten-year-old life – a life that many other ten-year-olds would be green with jealousy about.

'She doesn't know that success should be measured on your own merit,' Ketley said

But her underdeveloped brain is not yet able to understand that she may be taking on too much responsibility, too soon.

She doesn’t know that success should be measured on your own merit – not by who your parents and family are, and certainly not by how many likes and followers you get on social media.

As she ages and matures, she will realize that everything she has is not due to herself, leaving her feeling less confident in herself and questioning her own abilities.

She may feel betrayed in a normal childhood.

All parents want to support their children and help them whenever possible.

But ensuring North gets what she wants, regardless of whether she’s the right person for the job or the right age to take on such important tasks, is taking that support and help a step too far.

Kim and Kayne are not instilling a good work ethic in North, teaching her that you need to work hard to get where you want.

They are not teaching her that she will be taken more seriously if she gets there on her own merit.

If her dream is to act – be it a rapper, singer or actor – or all of the above, investing in theater and/or music school, where she can hone her talent, would be the best path.

Putting her on stage in front of thousands of people watching in a stadium and allowing her to face such harsh criticism and ridicule at just ten years old is cruel and could be something that will come back to affect Kim and Kanye in the future.

Teaching North that she can have anything she wants because of who she is can have a detrimental effect on her own worth and self-esteem when, or if, that expectation doesn’t come true for her.
