ANGELINA Jolie revealed a new tattoo to the world on Sunday to begin a new personal narrative, a psychologist said.
He weighed in on the star’s ink, which she debuted at the Tony Awards, and claimed the Maleficent star’s message was to prove she had “softened” and felt “free.”

Angelina, 49, showed off her new tattoo when she hit the red carpet on June 16 for the 77th annual Tony Awards.
The Tomb Raider star attended the event honoring the New York theater with her 15-year-old daughter, Vivienne.
They both worked on the new musical The Outsiders, with Angelina also presenting an award.
The mother and daughter wore matching green outfits. Angelina’s Versace dress was paired with a soft shawl.

A small black sparrow was displayed in the middle of the actress’s chest.
Clinical psychologist Dr.PhD, said Angelina’s statement was “powerful”.
“The message behind Angelina’s bird in flight tattoo involves lifting a burden,” Klapow told The US Sun.
“This shows that Angelina is now free.
“Placing a simple bird in flight on the sternum is quite powerful.
“She placed a softer, lighter, freer and more delicate symbol in one of the most powerful places on the body.
“That brings the eye to where your breasts [are] and it’s consistent with Angelina Jolie and a power play, but this is mature.
“Angelina placed this exactly where the eye would be drawn to where the double mastectomy was.
“This is about someone who had her breasts surgically removed.
“She could have put a bird on her shoulder or on her back.”
Many fans and followers may have remembered Angelina’s 2013 New York Times opinion article.
She then wrote that she underwent a double mastectomy as a preventative measure.

Angelina discovered that she carries a mutation in the BRCA1 gene, which increases the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.
His mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died of ovarian cancer in 2007, when she was 56.
LIFE CHANGING
According to Klapow, Angelina’s new tattoo was not a surprise.
“Although the tattoo has symbolic meaning, it is well deserved,” he said.
“She debuted the tattoo on the red carpet and it was a smart PR move, but it wasn’t shocking.
“Angelina is a star at multiple providers and has recently experienced life-changing events.
“This tattoo is appropriate for her, her lived experiences, her health, career and her relationship with tattoos.

“Remember, these awards were also a new event and venue for her.”
The mother of six celebrated at the Tonys, winning an award for her production of Outsiders. Vivienne helped her.
She shares the teenager with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60.
The former couple is going through a messy divorce. The split came after a fight between Brad and his son Maddox on a private jet.
Vivienne removed her father’s last name from her Playbill for The Outsiders listing.

One of his other daughters, Shiloh, also filed to have Pitt removed from her last name after she turned 18.
Klapow stated that the Lara Croft star perhaps wanted to show her different side through the new ink.
“Angelina already has children and is still divorcing a famous actor,” he added.
“Again, the tattoo symbolizes being free, free, delicate and beautiful.
“She’s now moving that whole part of her personality and makeup forward.”

This is also not Angelina’s first tattoo, as she has around 16 tattoos on her body.
These include a tattoo of Buddhist swirls on his forearm, a tribute to Winston Churchill, and Thai and Buddhist symbols on his back.
Angelina has the birthplace numbers of her six children on her left arm and a tiger on her lower back.

Klapow’s mental drive said many celebrities have chosen to make “aggressive” statements using body art.
“We’re very used to seeing artists’ pieces that are much more direct,” he said.
“Angelina has other, more shocking tattoos on her body.
“She has bigger tattoos with much more aggressive statements.
“Some of his other tattoos don’t have that aesthetic like the new one.
There may always have been a soft side to Angelina Jolie.

“Some are firmer and more aggressive, but more domineering.
“This bird is Angelina Jolie’s refined statement about her stuff.
“She made it incredibly light but prominent, so that’s another facet of Angelina Jolie that has always been there.
“But we didn’t see that corresponding to a tattoo that represents that.
“There may always have been a soft side to Angelina Jolie.”
FINALLY FREE
“None of us know exactly why Angelina got a small tattoo on her sternum and chose this design,” Klapow added.
“We can say that the location of the bird symbolizes its maturity as an adult.
“The opening at Tony’s shows his maturity as an artist.
“We can relate all of this to the novelty of receiving a Tony Award, which could be his statement about liberating his body.
“These things triangulate into a tattoo that could be like this.
“There may be others about Angelina that we cannot see.
“Overall, the bird was a great choice.
“Angelina’s tattoo also had a great impact because it expresses her beauty, lightness, peace, calm and freedom.”
