GERRY Turner and Theresa Nist’s appearance on Celebrity Family Feud exposed the truth behind their failed marriage, a body language expert has said.
She claimed Theresa’s “terrified” gestures on the game show suggested the pair were doomed from the start, with the New Jersey native seeking support from her “exhibitionist” husband.

Gerry, 71, and Theresa, 70, appeared in an episode of Celebrity Family Feud which aired on Tuesday.
They filmed the show before their split in April, competing with their children Angie, Jenny, Jen and Tommy.
The Golden Bachelor group faced the Bachelor team, made up of Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson.
Although the couple threw in the towel after tying the knot on The Golden Bachelor in January, they have publicly made the most of their game show romance.

Body language expert Judi James said that Theresa’s gestures contrasted with Gerry’s and indicated that their marriage was already in crisis.
“Theresa seemed vulnerable and reluctant from start to finish,” she told The US Sun.
“Her signs showed that she desperately wanted her marriage to Gerry to be her happy ending.
“The saddest non-verbal revelation was when she consoled herself by wearing her wedding ring.
“Theresa wanted to see Gerry as ‘The One.’
“Gerry’s gestures, however, showed that he saw marriage as a ladder to fame.
“Theresa showed no similar signs of fame-seeking or an inflated ego.
“This is what would lead them to divorce months later and suggest an insurmountable flaw in their marriage. This couple was already in crisis.”
During the 2023 Golden Bachelor finale, Gerry proposed to Theresa and chose her over 64-year-old Leslie Fhima.

The couple seemed like a decent pair, as Theresa caught Gerry’s eye among the other 22 contestants.
She arranged her first date with the father of two and they married on live TV in January.
The couple separated after Theresa decided not to move out.

According to James, Theresa showed genuine feelings for her new husband during Celebrity Family Feud.
“She played with her wedding ring when she was pressured during the question round,” she said.
Counterposed to Theresa’s vulnerability was Gerry’s competitiveness and total focus on winning.

“This showed a desire to turn to her husband for support and security, as expected in a marriage.
“Theresa did this more than once here, which suggests she had genuine feelings for him despite their impending separation.
“Theresa looked terrified alone in the spotlight, and her eyes sometimes signaled sadness.”

The Family Feud episode also showed Theresa starting the first segment, but with hesitation.
“Are you here against your will?” commented host Steve Harvey.
“Yes!” Teresa replied.
Gerry appeared like a mouse out of a trap with his happy, showy gait.

James stated that the movements of Theresa’s mouth proved that she did not want to be there.
“Theresa rubbed her tongue on the inside of her mouth in a torture ritual here,” she said.
“Her rictus smile suggested she wasn’t joking.”
MOUSETRAP
On the other hand, James said that Gerry was just there to win the show.
“Against Theresa’s vulnerability was Gerry’s competitiveness and total focus on winning,” she said
“His long, quick steps, heels hitting the ground first, made it seem like he couldn’t wait to show off his charm and intelligence.
“Gerry appeared like a mouse out of a trap with his happy, showy gait.
“He gave a big smile to the host, but no worried, loving look of congratulations or reassurance for his wife.”

Gerry and Theresa first explained their split on Good Morning America, claiming it was a matter of distance.
“Theresa and I had several heart-to-heart conversations and took a hard look at our living situation,” Gerry said.
“We have come to the mutual decision that it is probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
There was also a display of sexual confidence when he posed with his hands in front of his crotch.

Gerry stayed in Indiana with Theresa in New Jersey, and the divorce was finalized in June.
Interestingly, in the Dear Shandy Podcastthe couple admitted to having fought.
“We screamed and screamed and apologized, and we are better for it,” Theresa said.
