BOTOX has long been the anti-wrinkle treatment of choice for stars desperate for a quick fix to smooth their skin.
According to one esthetician, many now get Botox in their jaw every three months, and the injectable does more to the face than people think.
Celebrities typically use plastic surgery to enhance their bodies, tighten their skin, and contour their faces.
Now some dermatologists and surgeons inject Botox into the masseter muscles on each side of the face.
aesthetic nurse Jackie Spagnuolo in Beauty Nurse in New York claims that wanting a “thinner face” using masseter Botox has eclipsed people seeking to smooth their skin.
“This new trend is about facial slimming and contouring with Botox in the jaw area,” she told The US Sun.
“Masseter Botox can soften the appearance of a square jawline.
“This can make the chin appear thinner, more oval, heart-shaped, or V-shaped.
“In the past, it used to be Botox for wrinkles in the skin around the eyes, and the results only lasted 3 to 6 months.
“Now celebrities want thin, contoured chins and can choose different shapes and angles that suit them with masseter Botox.”
The large masseter muscle of the jaw is used for chewing and is located between the temporal bone and the jaw.
Botox is injected into the area, temporarily weakening and paralyzing movement – and Spagnuolo thinks stars like Chrissy Teigen and the Kardashians could have joined the bandwagon.
CHRISSY CONTORNO
Chrissy Teigen, 38, revealed that she started using Botox in her armpits to stop sweating.
After giving birth to her third child, the model also used Botox for headaches.
“Grinding Jaw Botox was a MUST for my regular headaches,” Chrissy wrote on X in 2020.
We can see that Chrissy had a heavier chin and now it is contoured.

“You can also do this behind the eyebrow for migraines,” she said.
“Chrissy shared publicly that she had masseter Botox,” he said. Spagnuolowho runs an aesthetic training academy.
“The results are visible through a thinner chin.
“She first mentioned getting it to alleviate teeth grinding and for cosmetic reasons.
“Chrissy expressed positive feedback, appreciating the functional and aesthetic benefits.
“Chrissy had a heavier chin and now it’s contoured.”
sassy KIM
Kim Kardashian, 43, started getting Botox injections when she was 29.
“I’m not completely against plastic surgery,” she told Cynthia McFadden on Night line in 2010.
“I’ve tried Botox before. It was the only thing I did,” she added.
“But I relaxed, actually,” she said of her 2022 Botox routine.
“No filler. I’ve never filled any of them, ever,” she said Fascination.
“Kim Kardashian’s chin has become much more refined,” said Spagnuolo.
“She has become less square over time, which suggests Kim has been using masseter Botox.
“She probably had Botox there and, like Chrissy, to get a more contoured face and cheeks and for cosmetic reasons.
“We can see these changes especially in recent years.
“Kim could have used masseter Botox to slim her face too.”
SMALL CHANCE
Kourtney Kardashian, 45, has never admitted to using Botox.
Even so, one Instagram follower insisted that she must have had plastic surgery.
“Botox, nose job and some kind of butt lift or BBL [Brazilian butt lift] just to get started,” they wrote in a publish in 2021.
“There’s no better compliment than a compliment that’s too good to be real,” the Hulu star responded.
Kourtney also opened up about a facial procedure in 2022, but in a now-deleted Instagram post.
“I’m here getting my Le Visage Lift Contour done,” she said in one clip as a tool was placed on her face to “lift and contour.”
“Just like Kim, Kourtney’s jawline started to look thinner and much more defined,” said Spagnuolo.
“She probably would have done it for cosmetic reasons, but she has not publicly admitted to receiving masseter Botox specifically.”
CARDI SCULPTURE
Cardi B, 31, has been open about transforming her face and body and has turned to plastic surgery for some cuts/tucks.
The rapper took BBL, but later removed the injectables.
She also had multiple breast jobs following the birth of her daughter, Kulture, in 2019.
“Cardi B’s jawline looks more sculpted than ever,” said Spagnuolo.
“This indicates the use of masseter Botox.
“She used Botox for cosmetic enhancements.”
TRANSFORM IT
Angelina Jolie, 49, has never admitted to having plastic surgery or using any injectables.
This is despite the Lara Croft star’s gradually transformed face and jawline.
“I haven’t done anything and I don’t think I will… I don’t intend to do it alone,” she said The Daily Mail in 2010.
“But whether it makes someone happy is up to them. I’m not in someone else’s shoes to know what makes them feel better about themselves. But I don’t intend to do this alone,” she added.
“Angelina Jolie’s chin maintained a refined appearance, suggesting possible use of masseter Botox,” said Spagnuolo.
“She could have done this for functional and aesthetic reasons.”
Costing $800 per unit, masseter Botox was initially used to help with teeth clenching and grinding.
Excessive use can lead to weakened chewing motion, making people unable to chew food properly.

The treatment is new, so the medical industry has not determined whether Masseter Botox is safe for long-term use.
The FDA has not approved Botox for use in this way.
To chew
Some professionals warn against excessive use and Spagnula said there could be complications.
“Botox injected into the masseter muscle can affect chewing, especially if too much is injected,” she added.
“Injecting too much, even slightly, would make it difficult to chew hard foods.
“Some may experience a different bite or drinking action.
“Excessive use can weaken the chewing movement, making people unable to chew food properly.
“It is crucial to inject the right amount to avoid damaging muscle function.”
