A WOMAN has shared how to transform a basic dress into a stylish holiday outfit with a few simple changes.
The young woman took to social media showing off the oversized dress that did little for her figure.
Opting for a green dress from Boohoo, she showed how it looked on the website’s model – and how disheveled the smock dress looked.
The ruffled, detailed smock dress is on sale for £24 and came in a range of colours, but is currently only available in white after she sold out of the dress.
This is a perfect example of use versus style
Opting for a bright green version in a size larger than normal – she showed how to style it and turn it into an expensive-looking number.
The dress was first spotted on fashion influencer Yasmin Devenport’s account, and she impressed everyone with the way she styled it.
So, the woman decided to use her video as inspiration and was thrilled with the result.
“This is a perfect example of use versus style,” she said.
“The green one was a size 10 large.
“But look what just adding a belt and two accessories, the earrings and the bag and the high heels can do to this dress.”
The youngster paired the bright green dress with an incredible gold sea shell bag that cost £21 and some adorable shell detail heel sandals.
“This look is so cute, I’m going on a cruise in a few days and it will be perfect,” she continued.
“Best example of use versus style. I transformed this huge dress with just 3 items,” she captioned the now-viral video.
She used the thin gold belt to tie around her waist, pulling the top of the dress to cover the belt and create a chic silhouette where the ruffles of the skirt gave a curvier appearance to her body.
The golden accessories completed the look, making it much more expensive.
The clip posted to his TikTok account @qtepiee88 It has since gone viral with over 700,000 views and 60,000 likes.
