THINKING about updating your summer wardrobe can seem daunting if you think it will cost a fortune.
But whether you’re thinking about holiday outfits or just looking to stretch your basics budget, Sainsbury’s has you covered.
The supermarket’s huge 25% off clothing sale is in full swing and doesn’t end until midnight on Tuesday, meaning there are plenty of bargains for you to take advantage of while you’re there.
And Tu Clothing creative stylist Katrina insisted that “nothing says summer like these classic denim shorts”.
The Light Denim shorts, also available in cream, are available in inclusive sizes from 8 to 22.
The original price of £16 seemed pretty reasonable, but now they’re on sale for just £12.
Katrina hailed them as a “summer essential” as she gave shoppers some expert tips on how to wear the versatile shorts three ways.
She said: “Top them into your swimwear, keep it casual with a tee, or opt for a statement blazer and a pair of metallic heels.”
Sainsbury bosses added: “Get ready for summer with these super cool shorts.
“Made of cotton with additional elasticity, they are perfect to carry in your suitcase.
“So easy to style for warm weather, pair with a slogan tee and sandals for a laid-back look.”
Fashion fans are also loving the stylish denim shorts, as one said: “Running to the store to buy those denim shorts.”
“Love, love, love,” wrote another.
A third said: “The shorts,” accompanied by heart-eyed emojis.
A fourth added: “Great quality, suitable size and good value. Would recommend.”
Meanwhile, a fifth added: “Great if you don’t like tight shorts.”
The shorts are almost completely sold out online, so you’ll need to scour the tracks at your nearest store.
And if this has inspired you to head to your local Sainsbury’s, you might also want to keep an eye out for a viral co-ordination.
Fashion fans insist it’s ‘bloat-friendly’ and perfect for holidays.
The ‘Black Embroidered Co-ord Shell Top’, £15, is already sold out online, with only limited sizes left in the matching ‘Black Embroidered Co-ord Shorts’, £18 – so you’ll need to find it in store.
How to look chic on a budget
Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger and beauty journalist Samantha Silver have revealed how you can elevate your looks without spending hundreds of pounds.
- Never spend on designer jeans: River Island ”always has a great selection of modern jeans that follow current trends”. The high street retailer offers a huge range of sizes for UK 6 – UK 18 and three leg lengths – and prices start at an affordable £25.
- There are no rules for jewelry: ”Buy something at a car boot sale or charity shop, browse Vinted and eBay, buy something in the clothing section of your local supermarket when shopping, or check out high street clothing stores.”
- Don’t forget your favorite sites: With a growing number of second-hand sites like Vinted and Depop, there’s no excuse not to buy – or sell – used clothes. Gemma, for example, managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunglasses for just £17.
