MIAMI Swim Week is almost over, so let’s take a look at some of the wildest looks so far.
From coconuts and starfish to strategically placed black ribbon, some of this year’s fashion was actually out there.
Miami Swim Week, the largest swimwear fair in the world, first appeared in 2004, although under a different name.
Since then, the event has grown and evolved, alongside the swimwear that has been modeled.
The crowning achievement of the week is the famous Sports Illustrated runway display.
Featuring big names from the fashion and entertainment industries, the show also marked the magazine’s 60th anniversary.
Podcaster and influencer Alix Earle walked alongside other famous creators like Jena Sims and the Cavinder twins.
Other runway presentations included Amarotto Swimwear, Saint Clair’s, Tracy Marcus and GSaints.
Some events drew a lot of attention due to their rather exaggerated appearance.
Among these was the Jewelz Mermaid Kisses Swimsuit track presentation.
The show was much talked about due to its unique take on what can be worn as swimwear.
Many models posed in coconut bras and blue printed bikini bottoms.
Others on the runway could be seen wearing similarly styled shell-shaped two-pieces.
O Date of birth The show featured another beach-themed take, with a model wearing two-star fish cutouts on her chest.
Although the bikini bottom was completely white, it was accessorized with a white tassel belt that resembled a grass skirt.
O Luxe Living Fashion The show brought a touch of Victoria’s Secret Angels to its runway, with models wearing halos and feather wings along with their two-pieces.
THE BLACK RIBBON PROJECT
However, it was perhaps The Black Ribbon Project who stole the show with her wild looks.
Specializing in body tape art, the initiative has caused quite a stir since it arrived on the fashion scene.
The exhibition featured models showing a lot of skin posing in strategically placed black metallic ribbon.
While ribbon was used to maintain each model’s modesty, it also created some fun design features, including high-waisted V-shaped pants, criss-cross front straps, and even garters.
Miami Fashion Week will continue until Wednesday, June 5th.
