With over 17 years of women’s styling experience, she shared her best tips and tricks for using Vinted.

She said: “For many of us, Vinted is very easy to use, you don’t have to worry about postage etc.

We all go through phases with the items in our wardrobe, but if there’s something you never reach for again, maybe it’s time to say goodbye to it.

Lisa also says it’s a great way to get your money back on items you never returned but still have the tags on them.

“If you’re not using them, you might as well make some money off them,” she said.

“I even have two customers who made £1,000 from items they picked up and they both used Vinted.”

To ensure your items sell quickly, Lisa’s first tip was how they look in photos.

She recommended always using a hanger to hang them rather than spreading them out on the bed or floor — which can make them look wrinkled.

“Place this piece and the hanger on the back of the door to have a blank canvas, take a photo of the front of the piece, the back and any additional details.. also take a photo of the tag, the brand,” she explained .

She added that you should take as many photos as possible and ensure that the color of the clothing in the image is true to how you look in real life.

The personal stylist’s second tip was to take time with the description to make sure it was seen.

Lisa said size, brand, color and pattern were important details to go into the description so people searching for those terms would find your item.

Add what kind of color shade it is, if there are any flaws and what the style is.

Lisa added that it’s always better to use Vinted on your phone rather than a desktop, as it’s much easier to navigate and offers drop-down menus that make listing items quicker.

Do you need to pay taxes on items sold on Vinted?

QUICK tax facts from the Vinted team…

  • The only time an item may be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and makes a profit (sold for more than you paid for it). You can still use your £3,000 capital gains tax-free allowance to offset it.
  • Generally, only commercial sellers who trade for profit (buy goods with the aim of selling them for more than they paid for them) may have to pay taxes. Business sellers trading for profit can use a £1,000 tax break, which has been in place since 2017.

She added that when sending the order, simply select the size of the order and the delivery company.

There are several couriers to choose form in the app, and you can select which ones you want to use and which are closest to you.

As for price, Lisa said you should be realistic about what to expect and that you don’t need to sell it for too cheap.

His fourth tip was to sit down and carry all the items at once so as not to lose any and make the process overwhelming.

For example, when her son was moving house, he wanted to get rid of some clothes and she was able to upload 50 items to the website in just one hour.

Lisa continued: “So those are my tips for today, all about Vinted.

“Try it, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”
