A WOMAN has left the internet shocked after revealing she was given a dress code at work because of her ‘inappropriate’ outfit.
After the alleged incident, she took to social media to show off her look, which apparently showed too much ‘skin’ for the workplace.
In the clip, which was shared on TikTok by @christmaskwon, she can be seen showing off the outfit, and people were left scratching their heads as to what could be wrong with her.
Wearing high-waisted black jeans and a black tank top with a black cardigan over it, she slowly twirled to show that barely any skin was showing through the outfit.
“My boss just told me I’m showing too much skin,” she wrote in the clip.
Unsurprisingly, the video quickly went viral and currently has over six million views and thousands of comments from confused viewers.
The employee revealed that she works somewhere where there are “literally zero occasions” to show off to customers.
Turns out she wasn’t the only one who was dressed in work clothes, and many people said their bosses were also very picky about what’s “appropriate.”
One wrote: I was given dress codes repeatedly so I started wearing the same clothes as my manager and still got dress codes from her.
A second commented: “I asked in writing. I was wearing a suit that was ‘too casual’, it was the quickest ‘nevermind’ from my boss.
“They won’t put their bullying in writing.”
“I was given a dress code at my job that had NO dress code,” a third added.
Meanwhile, others thought the problem could be due to his tattoos, which were visible due to the round neck of his t-shirt.
“He wanted to say cover up his tattoos, but he doesn’t have the courage to say it. I would send an email to HR”, reflected one of them.
A second agreed: “They’re probably referring to your tattoos, which is so stupid because they look beautiful.”
“People still weirdly discriminate against tattoos, they take it to their superiors because he’s wrong,” wrote another.
“He meant you look amazingly well and that intimidates me,” said another person.
How to look chic on a budget

Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger and beauty journalist Samantha Silver have revealed how you can elevate your looks without spending hundreds of pounds.
- Never spend on designer jeans: River Island ”always has a great selection of modern jeans that follow current trends”. The high street retailer offers a huge range of sizes for UK 6 – UK 18 and three leg lengths – and prices start at an affordable £25.
- There are no rules for jewelry: ”Buy something at a car boot sale or charity shop, browse Vinted and eBay, buy something in the clothing section of your local supermarket when shopping, or check out high street clothing stores.”
- Don’t forget your favorite sites: With a growing number of second-hand sites like Vinted and Depop, there’s no excuse not to buy – or sell – used clothes. Gemma, for example, managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunglasses for just £17.
