A FORMER PRIMARK employee has shared all the secrets to getting more cash at the till.
Joanna, who worked at the retail giant’s store for four years, even claimed that there are secret bathrooms that customers can use.
She shared the discount schemes and protocols available, as well as the best time to buy new stock.
The former employee joked that “there is so much tea that needs to be spilled”.
However, she first warned that customers should always wash clothes purchased from Primark when they get home.
“Most of the stuff on the tracks is disgusting and has been used by the sweatiest, grossest people,” she said.
“Always wash things when you get home before using them.
“The same item was tried on by more than five people.”
However, there are still bargains to be had in the Irish retailer’s stores.
According to Joanna, Friday mornings, between 9am and 12pm, are the best time to shop.
“Fresh stock is delivered on Thursday evening and stored overnight,” she said.
“You avoid long lines and get fresh stock.”
DAMAGE DISCOUNT
If an item is damaged, Joanna says you can get money from it at the register.
“If you want to buy an item but notice it is damaged, you can take it to the register and tell the person serving you that,” she said.
“They will call their supervisor or manager, who will take money from it.”
The discount will be between 10% and 30%.
Joanna shared this information in a now-viral TikTok video, which prompted some current Primark employees to warn that this figure is likely to be closer to 10%.
BLUE LIGHT DISCOUNT
Primark is offering a special discount to some public service workers through the Blue Light Card scheme.
The Blue Light Card offers online and in-store discounts to NHS, social care, emergency services and armed forces staff.
Joanna said this is normally 10% off every purchase at Primark.
To apply for the Primark Blue Light Card, eligible individuals need to sign up to the Blue Light Card website.
The discount amount varies depending on the product or service, but can reach 20%

You will need to provide proof of employment or volunteer status in the NHS, armed forces or public sector.
“Cardholders can enjoy exclusive discounts across all Primark stores in the UK,” add discount experts at Vogo.
“The discount amount varies depending on the product or service, but can reach 20%.
“In addition, cardholders will also be able to access promotions and special events.
“The Primark Blue Light Card is a fantastic initiative by Primark to give back to those who serve our community. It offers great value and rewards those who deserve it most.”
Why is Primark the place to go for bargains?
JUST how does Primark do it? Continue delivering fashionable items at such incredible prices? According to the bosses, it fell to four points.
- They “sell a lot of items” – thanks to this they are able to save money by buying in bulk for their 191 UK stores
- They “do very little advertising”
- Although their clothes offer the “latest trends,” they “do not use expensive hangers, tags, or labels.”
- And finally, they try to be “as efficient as possible when transporting products from factories to stores”. This includes things like asking “suppliers to package our t-shirts so they’re ready to go straight to the shelf.”
