A WOMAN left people completely shocked after showing off the dress she wore to her brother’s wedding.

Paris Culbertson, a designer from Melbourne, Australia, didn’t know what to wear on her brother’s big day and ended up making her own dress for the occasion.

But Paris’ dress left people seriously divided – while some deemed it “cute”, others deemed it “not appropriate for a wedding”.

It comes after the self-proclaimed ‘fashion girl’ who loves ‘doing sparkly things’ and even has her own bespoke fashion brand, Pazdaz, launched in 2020, took to social media to show off the dress she wore as a wedding guest.

Paris responded to a comment from one of her followers that said, “What did you end up wearing to the wedding?”

To this, the fashionista responded and explained: “I wore the dress.

“I really had nothing else.

“But I didn’t use it with the bow, I left it a little more toned down.”

Paris then shared a Photograph from her brother’s wedding day, where she posed in the short blue dress, while smiling: “I think it looks cute.”

The unique corset-style fitted dress has a plunging neckline and flattering design.

Paris styled her handmade dress with a pair of nude heels and a small bag, and wore her hair in loose curls.

But the TikTok clip, posted under the username @PazadzIt clearly left many speechless as it quickly racked up 340,800 views in just one day.

Wedding Hell: Groom’s Bad Suit Goes Viral

Social media users were hugely divided over the dress – while many described it as “adorable”, others thought it was “too short” and “too revealing”.

One person said: “The dress is beautiful and you look beautiful in it. It makes me sad that you don’t seem excited about this. You literally look AMAZING.

You nailed it with your final style

Another added: “It’s so cute, you looked stunning.”

A third commented: “It’s adorable. Bow would have worked too. Suits you for a match.

Dos and Don’ts of Wedding Dress Codes

By Josie Griffiths, Fabulous deputy editor and bride-to-be.

I will never forget the wedding I went to in October 2022, where a guest wore a white dress.

It was ill-fitting, knee-length, and looked nothing like a real wedding dress, but that didn’t stop everyone from judging her.

The rules about wedding guest attire — which are annoyingly stricter for women than men — are meant to be about “not outshining the bride,” which is actually pretty hard to do on someone else’s wedding day.

But if you get it wrong as a guest, you’ll end up looking a little silly and in front of a bunch of people who don’t know you personally.

It’s just not the occasion for your new white dress, no matter how much online stores love to throw it in the ‘wedding guest’ section.

I would avoid anything too tight/short and ditch the super formal dresses unless the dress code requires them – you don’t want to wear a long sequin dress to a smart casual event.

Personally I don’t like black dresses either, it’s not a funeral.

Otherwise you will be quite safe. Technically, wearing red means you’re in love with your fiancé, but that’s the kind of rule most people would scoff at these days.

I always check the bridesmaids’ color, just to be safe, after the Spanish wedding, where I saw them walk down the aisle in exactly the same dress I had in my Asos shopping basket weeks before.

When in doubt, it’s safest to just check with the bride… but if you’re already doubting your dress, this might be the answer you need.

While someone else smiled: “Honestly, it looks great. You nailed it with your final style.

However, not everyone liked Paris’ dress so much.

One user asked: “Why? Literally anything would have been better than this.”

I would have sent you home

A second chimed in: “Nooooo, it’s a nice dress, but it’s definitely not appropriate for a wedding… It’s too short, too revealing…”

Another user stated: “You absolutely could have found something else…selfish behavior, pick me.”

While someone else wrote: “I would have sent you home.”
