EVALUATE THE PROBLEM
Responding to a question about wedges from wearing high-waisted styles, she knew this was her calling.
“Alright, it’s time to shine,” she said.
“The issue you are having could be due to the waist height. The waist band is the right size. The legs are wide enough for the hips and thighs and still ride up.
“Rise height is the length of the seam from the crotch to the waist and if it’s not long enough, it will try to pinch and stretch. And it can, a little, because there is a curve in the seam.
“There is usually a small gap in the base cut [and] sometimes it’s enough to make it work, if the climb is close enough.”
She recognized that most pants are typically classified as high, mid, or low rise.
However, she recommended taking a closer look at specific measures.
She gave the example of an opening in the leg affecting the waistband.
“Often, if the leg opening is wider, the sides of the waist rise because they want to be at the smallest point on the body,” she said.
“But they still need to separate from the crotch seam at a certain point.
“If you have a more pronounced tummy, you may also need to look at this because a curved line is longer than a straight line.”
She gave an example of how she found pants that fit her perfectly.
“I think the only pants I have that really stay on the waist without pulling are the cigarette pants from Unique Vintage.
“They don’t list the height of the rise, but on my pair it’s 16 inches, 3.75 inches taller than the highest American Eagle rise, which is literally more than the jump from ‘lowest’ to ‘lowest’. higher’.
“Now again, at some point, going up a size can help because it gives you more room in the hips and gives the waist a little more length to try to reach/hold your waist.
“Usually you’ll get that V-dip in your pants when this happens, and it’ll start to look like you have a [camel emoji] toe, even when you don’t.”
