Next month, I’m off to the best city vacation destination – New York.

I know the weather gets really hot during the summer in the Big Apple, so I want clothes that keep me cool and comfortable while I’m out and about.

The main thing for me when it comes to comfort is shoes – and I know we will be walking tens of thousands of steps every day, so sneakers are essential.

I love how colorful this Adidas pair is, and red and pink go so well together – they really make a statement.

I’m loving poplin skirts this summer because they’re a great length and light and flowy – this green cotton one from Lindex is perfect.

I paired my outfit with a graphic tee and a raffia crossbody bag because my goal is to go hands-free while on vacation in the city.

A pair of sunglasses completes my look and I’m ready to hit the Big Apple in style.

In a few weeks we’re off for a lovely weekend in the Kent countryside, and although I spend most days in dog-walking clothes, I like going for lunch in a good gastropub!

I have loads of stylish tailoring for work and tons of comfy clothes for walking the dog, but I never have anything in between that makes me feel nice and put together but not too OTT – so this brief is perfect for me!

I can see myself sitting in a sunny orange grove with a glass of crisp rose and some potted shrimp.

I love juxtaposing prints, so the soft stripes of this carry bag and the vintage floral of the top look great together.

Add some classic pearl earrings and a pair of comfy flats and then I can even go for a stroll through the village’s antique shopping in complete comfort (but only if I don’t have a second glass of rose!).

At the end of summer I will enjoy a lovely coastal stay in Sandbanks, Dorset.

While I’m hoping for a late heatwave, the unpredictable weather makes it difficult to decide what to pack.

Denim shorts are my summer staple, and I love this white pair from H&M—I’ll just have to be really careful not to spill anything on them.

We have some lovely seaside walks planned, so I’ve paired the shorts with a light linen shirt that I can wear over my bikini if I want to take a dip in the sea, and I’m going to roll up the sleeves and tuck this shirt into the shorts to create some shape.

Buttermilk yellow will be the color of the season and I’m really embracing it with this yellow tote bag from Zara, which is giving Bottega vibes on a budget.

I’m sure there will be a slight breeze, especially at night, so I’ll throw on a sleeveless vest and finish off the look with my favorite pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses, a cute wicker beach hat, and some trusty Birkenstocks.

All that’s left to do is grab the Polaroid and create some memories.

I’m heading to Greece to sort out the hot weather this summer.

On a beach holiday, I never overpack and always keep what I’m going to wear simple, because after years of overdoing it I realized that I live in denim shorts, bathing suits and white t-shirts!

With my jeans, I prefer A-line styles that don’t hug your thighs as they are more comfortable to wear and flattering on the legs.

I always pack an LBS – which is a black one-piece – and I love the scallop details on this cossie from Marks & Spencer, which also comes with the store’s Sun Smart technology that helps protect against sun damage.

To look good by the pool it ticks the box, but it also works as a top and I’ll wear it with a white poplin midi skirt and these amazing sandals from & Other Stories.

They are timeless, comfortable and double for day and night.

And I’ll put everything I need for dinner tips of the day (as well as all the jewelry I buy at local markets) in this New Look bag that screams designer.

Now, take me on that plane.

How to choose the best travel clothes

The Sun’s deputy fashion editor has broken down the essential travel outfits for getting from A to B in style.

Abby McHale says: “When it comes to deciding what to wear at the airport, several factors need to be taken into consideration.

“What the weather is like in the countries you are traveling from, how long your flight is (as comfort is essential) and how much luggage you take.

“If you’re going from one climate to another, make sure you have layers, and this may be your only option if you don’t have a lot of space in your luggage.

“A light jacket over a t-shirt with a thin scarf or sweater in your bag in case the plane is cold would work.

“Also don’t forget your sunglasses, although the blast of hot air is lovely when you step off the plane, you’ll need your sunglasses in your bag.

“When it comes to the bottoms – opt for something loose and comfortable, there are so many gorgeous pairs of stretchy wide leg pants at the moment, look for fabrics like linen that are nice and lightweight for a stylish yet comfortable look.

“To finish with the accessories, sneakers are the most practical option, however, flat sandals can also look beautiful (just put a pair of socks in your bag for the plane), and the high crossbody bag is perfect for storing all your important belongings. documents near you.”
