LIKE most rival supermarkets, Sainsbury’s has upped its fashion game in recent years.
However, one of his latest additions, a quilted jacket, has left fashionistas completely divided, as some think this piece belongs in a grandmother’s wardrobe.
The essential item highlight was discovered by a shopper, Lillian Mai, who took to TikTok to rave about her find.
The white quilted jacket, priced at £32, which fits in a bag, featured a pretty black floral print and two side pockets, making the piece both stylish and practical.
As the colors are neutral, this essential look is versatile and easy to combine for any occasion.
Throw on some jeans, white sneakers and a bag and you’ll be ready to face the day in a more casual ensemble.
Wear smart tailored trousers, add a fitted vest underneath with some gold accessories and a pair of chic sunglasses for a more elegant outfit.
As the material is light and cozy, this jacket is the perfect piece for days when the weather can’t decide what it’s going to do and will keep you totally warm on cold summer nights.

The fashionista, who posts under the username @lilianmaiichose the UK size M jacket and it looked amazing.
Urging others to visit the popular supermarket, Lillian said: ”Don’t sleep @Sainsbury’s clothing section.”
She continued: ”Deffo isn’t for everyone, but I’m a big fan of the quilted jacket trend!
“Who doesn’t like to feel comfortable,” she laughed.
But although Lillian was loving the outfit, the reaction online was a little different – and it’s safe to say not everyone will be rushing to Sainsbury’s to bag the jacket.
Many, for example, thought that the stylish find was inspired by grandmothers.
“My grandmother would like this,” one person wrote.
“I tested supermarket jeans and my favorite is Levi’s Dupe”

Jeans are a staple in everyone’s wardrobe, but can supermarket brands hold a candle to the iconic Levi’s?
Fabulous Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale tested four styles and compared them. Here’s her verdict…
“As a teenager, I lived in Joni skinny jeans from Topshop and got my first pair of Levi’s in my early twenties.
But now, in my late 30s, I love nothing more than supermarket jeans. They are a great value and very comfortable. They also last well, which my £100 Levi’s didn’t (so much for them staying good forever).
But although I’ve converted to supermarket jeans, how well do pairs compare to those from high-end high street stores?
Here I compare a range of styles, from skinny and straight to cargo and wide leg, and give my verdict and reviews.
- Bleached Wide Leg, F&F at Tesco, £22.50 – 5/5
- Slim, George at Asda, £17 – 3/5
- Cargo, M&S, £45 – 4/5
- Straight leg, Tu at Sainsbury’s, £20 – 4/5
I knew there was a reason I loved supermarket jeans so much and I don’t think this comparison test changed that much. And with some of the styles, it’s really hard to tell the difference.
Sainsbury’s Straight Leg jeans are a Levi’s knockoff but cost £20 instead of £100!”
Another joked: “Ahh yes, my favorite duvet cover vibes.”
“Fancy grandma,” someone interrupted.
“This is horrible,” a quarter were also not fans of the printed jacket.
“River Island has a better item for £20,” one fashionista revealed where to find a similar item for less.
