WHEN it comes to fashion in the summer months, there are few things more annoying than visible bra straps.
So it’s no surprise that shoppers are going crazy for Tesco’s newest launch, which a woman called Sammy branded “brilliant for summer”.
The fashionista took to TikTok (@sammyjooliver) and posted a photo of the new vest with built-in bra hanging on the shelves of her local branch.
Available in a range of colors including white, beige, green and coral, Sammy addresses his social media followers and urges: “Run, don’t walk to Tesco!
“At 25% off they’re £7.50 – that’s cheaper than Primark!”
Alongside the clip, she wrote: “@F&F Clothing built bra tops!
“With 25% off, they’re just £7.50. Brilliant for summer.”
Reasons to buy supermarket fashion
When looking for new pieces to add to your seasonal wardrobe or update basics, there’s no need to spend hours wandering around clothing stores or browsing online. Just grab a dress or two along with your fruits and vegetables…
They are convenient – You are likely to visit your supermarket more often than a shopping center or high street.
It’s affordable – From basics to fashion-forward pieces, supermarkets are paving the way for budget-friendly fashion that doesn’t look cheap.
They are more fashionable than you think – With a customer database larger than the average high street store, stores such as ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are able to serve markets and forecast trends in many more areas than just food supply.
They fit well – Fits and lengths often come with a little more modesty in mind. The fabrics also tend to be highly practical – think plenty of 100% cotton that can be thrown into the washing machine without thinking.
The post has since gone viral, racking up an impressive 71.5k views and numerous comments from fashion fans across the country.
“If anyone tries it with GG let me know how you are please,” one begged.
A second joked: ‘Lol if only my boobs were in the right position with no bra to cover! I would need that padding a few inches closer to my waist!!’
And Tesco isn’t the only store to sell built-in bra vests, with Primark also sending fashion fans into meltdown with its version of the convenient summer top.
The thrift store shared the new line on its Instagram and TikTok accounts.
In the clip, a model can be seen demonstrating exactly how the vest works, first showing it with a white bra underneath and then without a bra because the top had secret padded cups sewn inside.
Alongside the post, the caption read: “Say goodbye to visible bra straps and hello to this cropped running vest with built-in bra. Now just £8/€10/$12 #Primark.”
Elsewhere, another fashion fan called Kym called New Look’s built-in bra vest the “best summer buy this year” after visiting her local store.
She chose the blouse, which is available in sizes 6 to 22, in white as well as black – and although they usually cost £14.99 each, they are currently on offer for just £13.49.
The online product description reads: “Basic but not, the built-in bra makes our stretchy vest a practical addition to your everyday wardrobe.”
