STATEMENT fashion is about stepping out of your comfort zone, but some fans believe it’s possible to go too far.
Selma Blair raised eyebrows by modeling a tie made from hair while attending the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week on Monday.

The blonde bombshell wore the designer’s platinum tie paired with a crisp white shirt, beige jacket, matching pants and a dark brown belt.
The look came straight from the catwalk.
Critics were shocked when Schiaparelli literally debuted hair bows in March at her Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear show in Paris.
Models wore sharp workwear, strutting down the runway dressed in menswear-inspired suits.
While nearly every aspect of the suits was on par with traditional menswear, from the high shoulders to flared trousers and loafers, one accessory stood out.
Each model wore a thick lock of braided hair instead of a tie.
One model wore a platinum blonde tie just like the one Selma wore this week.
According to the fashion housethe ties “paid homage to the surrealist element of hair inspired by Pippa Garner, Mimi Parent, and Meret Oppenheim’s iconic fur bracelet for Elsa Schiaparelli.”
Some fashion fans mocked the avant-garde design of the Reddit in March, admitting they couldn’t understand the style.
“This looks like something a serial killer would like,” joked one Redditor.
“That American Psycho drip right there,” agreed another.
“It looks like they killed a dwarf and are using his beard as a trophy,” said a third.
Some were more concerned about the inevitable clothing care.
“When they need cleaning, do you send them to the dry cleaners or the hairdresser?” asked one commenter.
“Hair salon is my vote because you would need someone to do a nice braid,” said another.

Some, however, felt that the ties were a cut above the rest.
A TikTok Video about the unconventional tie also had commenters weighing in on the look last spring.
Many thought the accessory looked great – on the red carpet.
“People don’t understand the difference between editorial and ready-to-wear,” said one commenter.
“I was choking on the braid around my neck! But it’s not every day,” said another.
