WHO would have thought they would create a product line for Rosa Parks?

While the Civil Rights leader deserves recognition, it is not what one would expect.

Fashion fans have criticized a brand for the bikini set named after the activist, calling it “disrespectful.”

Divino Seas, a swimwear company, named a strappy bikini top and matching bottoms in its collection in honor of Parks.

The “Rose” set comes in light pink and sea salt. The bikini top, originally $90, is now sold out in both colors.

“Inspired by the woman whose righteous rebellion against apartheid-style segregation in the United States sparked the civil rights movement of the 1960s,” the website read.

“In honor of Rosa Parks, DivinoSeas has included this Artesian-inspired salute to haute couture in the realm of luxury beachwear.

“ROSA is meticulously designed with divinity in the details.

“Each element in the constellation of its composition contributes to the seductive yet imposing seriousness of the settings.”

The brand also dedicated a two piece setavailable in six shades, named after former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

“Named in honor of the most famous First Lady of the United States, the honorable and noble candidate Eleanor Roosevelt, who controversially condemned fascist dictatorships at a politically inopportune moment,” the website said.

“This uniquely textured Legacy line item also goes against the grain of the zeitgeist while embracing truth through body positivity through comfort and quality.”

Critics of X, formerly known as Twitter, criticized the brand, calling the dedication to Parks inappropriate.

“Every day, we move closer to dystopian. WTAF,” said one X user.

“Trying to capitalize on an important figure in the Civil Rights movement and profiting from exploiting Rosa Parks’ legacy… using her name to sell a BIKINI… this is just horrible,” said another.

“Corporations have no end to the embalming layers of their avarice. Disrespectful!”

“I just asked my friend if he had seen the Rosa Parks bikini,” said one commenter in disbelief.

“What kind of world are we in?”

“This is exactly what I expect from feminism in 2024,” said a third.

Some chose to see the humor in the situation.

“RIP Rosa Parks, you would have loved that stripper bikini top,” said one commenter.

“The most perfect Juneteenth bikini,” joked another.

“Truly beautiful, this is what progress looks like,” joked a third.

“To be fair, Rosa Parks would look so beautiful in this,” said a fourth.

One commenter addressed an issue with an entirely different aspect of the bikini.

“If someone did something 100% synthetic in my ‘honor’ I would be VERY upset,” they said.
