SHOPPERS have thanked Primark for the “shoes they didn’t know they needed” after seeing a 90s footwear trend return to stores.
Fashion fans even called the £22 shoe a must-buy in Rita Ora’s new boho collection.
Its “festival season” summer range arrived in Primark stores nationwide last week.
Speaking excitedly about the news, the Anywhere singer, 33, said: “This is one of my favorite collections so far, I love the energy and atmosphere of a festival, and being on stage during the summer is one of the best experiences as artist.
“I hope you love this line as much as I loved designing it.”
The 190-piece collection starts at £3, with the most expensive item – a brown faux leather motorcycle jacket – costing £36.
Delighted shoppers are already loving the revival of 90s festival fashion, as one put it: “Rita has done it again.”
Meanwhile, a second wrote: “Love everything, poor bank account.”
And her new line is just another example of fashion trends coming, going, going out, and coming back with a bang.
’90s and 90s styles have been taking over the streets in recent months – we’re looking at baby tees, disco belts and leopard print.
Now, an iconic shoe trend is also back — and we’re not talking about ballet flats or flats.
Classic Swedish clogs were a boho staple for celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Alexa Chung, and Kate Moss back in the day.
The Sex and the City star has since given the return her seal of approval after being spotted in them while filming the new season of And Just Like That last month.
So it’s no surprise that high street stores are embracing the clip clopping style again, with New Look, River Island and ASOS all stocking their own versions.
But it’s a budget-friendly option in Primark’s Rita Ora collection that has caught shoppers’ attention.
The black studded clogs with a chunky heel cost £22.
They have platform heels, come in synthetic leather and are available in sizes 3 to 8.
If you’re looking for something a little more delicate, you can also buy the mule clog, in white or brown, for £16.
Primark bosses said: “These chunky clogs are bringing the drama – don’t think twice about giving in!”
They added: “Rita Ora’s latest collection is here to help keep your summer shoe collection fresh, and these chunky high-heeled clogs are doing the heavy lifting!
“With a convenient design, these block heel clogs are a great option for easy styling during the warmer months.
“They have a synthetic leather front for a timeless look and a block heel for a more comfortable wearing experience.
“Decorated with shiny stud details, as well as a buckle strap that can be worn around the ankle or pushed forward, these understated shoes will make a unique addition to your collection.
“Easily pair with anything from a miniskirt and cami top to tailored pants and a tracksuit bodysuit for a stylish ensemble!”
After picking up a pair, the buyer Antonia said: “I bought these clogs, they don’t suit everyone, but I think they’re brilliant.
“You can use them as slingbacks or just push the buckle forward and use them as mules.
“I love these. I wore them today, they’re so comfortable. But I had to size up two sizes. I’ll be wearing them throughout the summer.”
Emma fashion stylistfrom Glasgow, is also a fan.
She said, “They are coming. I will not accept negative comments about this purchase.
“Little Rita Ora did well with this latest collection. Thank you for the shoes I didn’t know I needed.
“I’ve decided I’m going to bring this back into fashion. I can’t wait to play with you all.”
All the 90s trends that are back
It may be 2024, but fashion fans are looking to the past when it comes to new styles. So what ’90s trends are making a comeback these days?
Claw Clips
These hair accessories were a huge trend in the ’90s, but now they’re more popular among those experimenting with the “clean girl” aesthetic. Designers like Prada have released their own versions, although there are thousands of colors and styles to choose from on the high street.
Platform slippers
Again a popular choice among fashionistas in the ’90s, these heels have made a comeback with designers like Balenciaga trying their luck with their own styles.
Cargo pants
Once worn by All Saints stars, cargo pants became a popular trend among teenagers in the ’90s. But now they’ve gotten a fashion makeover, with stars like Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber putting their own spin on the trend.
Jeans and a beautiful top
It was the phrase that defined fashion for a decade, and now famous faces like Sofia Richie are sporting the reinvented trend – pairing their own denim with a more sophisticated top. But are you willing to take your cute jeans and tops out of your wardrobe for a second time?
