THEY say imitation is the highest form of flattery and judging by Katy Perry’s latest looks, she must hold Kim Kardashian in high regard.
The A-list icons have been friends for a long time, with Katy bringing Kim’s daughter North West on stage with her and the pair bonding over their ‘ugly crying faces’.

In addition to receiving freebies from Kim’s many brands, Perry once called herself a “secret Kardashian,” and recently it appears Katy has been looking to her for style inspiration.
This week Perry, 39, was in Paris for Fashion Week showing off her edgy new style.
From attending a Balenciaga show in a fur coat, tights and no bra to walking in Vogue World in a bold cutout dress, she traded her playful and extravagant looks for fashionable and sexy ones.
But we can’t help but notice that her showbiz pal Kim, 43, could be behind the transformation.

Perry arrived at French fashion house Balenciaga for its couture show wearing a black fur coat, sunglasses and ripped tights.
Everything, down to her slicked-back hair and her expression, mirrored Kim’s look in Paris in March, when she also wore a fur coat, sunglasses and slicked-back hair wearing, erm, Balenciaga.
Maybe the pair aren’t just sharing fashion tips, but the clothes themselves — we can’t keep up.

When Kim Kardashian showed up in a cut-out black dress covering just her nipples, we thought we had reached the height of edgy fashion.
The Skims mogul wore a vintage Thiierry Mugler dress in 2019 to the Hollywood Beauty Awards with black straps across the chest, wrists and a thigh-high slit.
Fast forward to now, Katy Perry replicated the outfit from Vogue World: Paris which took place this month with a Noir Ninomiya gown.

Katy Perry arrived at the Billboard Music Awards in March wearing a red corset top and partially tied skirt with black panties on display.
But styling a hide-and-seek G-string isn’t original, it’s a thong from the past.
Her friend Kim wore a similar look (and adopted the same pose).
In October 2020, Kim took to Instagram to show off her new LBD with a round bottom and a red thong peeking out of the top.

In April, earlier this year, Katy arrived on the red carpet in a black bra and pants and a fishnet dress on top.
At the iHeartRadio Music Awards, the Firework singer impressed with her reticulated look and high boots.

In 2016, a blonde Kim, then-husband, arrived at Kanye’s Hollywood art exhibit wearing a fishnet dress with nude bodysuit underneath that made her appear completely naked.

CHANGING clothes with friends is a rite of passage for women.
When I was younger, getting ready to go out was more fun than going out itself.
Arriving at a friend’s house, trying on clothes, sharing accessories, styling each other while sharing some warm food.
It was all part of our Saturday night ritual.
Hats off to Kim and Katy for keeping the teenage dream alive and continuing to dress in each other’s outfits or be inspired by each other.
Fortunately for them, they are similar ages, sizes and life stages.
As far as the kids are concerned, these two are nailing it and even though their fashion choices are bold – good on them for being bold.

The top ended with a point from the corner of the chest almost to the shoulder.
Just a few months earlier, Kim Kardashian wore an equally striking look to the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
Kim’s minimalist Balenciaga dress was a hit in March for its fin-shaped front and a more demure look for the star.
Following Kim’s success, Katy couldn’t help but create her own version.
