WE ARE all doing what we can to earn some extra money – from doing side hustles to selling our unwanted goods.

Vinted has become a popular way to flog our unworn clothes, but it’s not always as easy as it seems.

Many people have accessed the app to sell their clothes, but unfortunately, our clothes are often listed without anyone buying them.

Nicole had the same problem: her clothes just weren’t selling at the rate she expected.

But the savvy woman decided to try a viral hack to pique shoppers’ interest and was thrilled to see it work.

On social media, she revealed that she deleted the items from her profile and then listed them again.

“This is your signal to relist your Vinted items that have been up for weeks,” Nicole said.

The young woman revealed that it was not an easy task and it may take a while, but it was worth it.

“It takes so long, but it’s worth it!! I sold 10 items in one day,” she wrote in the comments.

She also revealed that the background of the photo helped and used a white sheet to show off her items.

“I’ve never seen sales so fast,” Nicole added.

Now Nicole’s items are being snapped up left, right and center and people have quickly tried out her trick for themselves.

I made £60 selling three tops on Vinted – here are my top tips and the item to look out for that always makes money

The clip went viral on his TikTok account @Nicolelouux with more than 125 thousand views and 2,000 likes.

People accepted the comments, thanking the tip and sharing theirs.

One person wrote: “Yes, it’s all about the background! I did that yesterday and sold all four.”

Another commented: “It’s so boring to do, but it definitely works.”

Do you need to pay taxes on items sold on Vinted?

QUICK tax facts from the Vinted team…

  • The only time an item may be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and makes a profit (sold for more than you paid for it). You can still use your £3,000 capital gains tax-free allowance to offset it.
  • Generally, only commercial sellers who trade for profit (buy goods with the aim of selling them for more than they paid for them) may have to pay tax. Business sellers trading for profit can use a £1,000 tax break, which has been in place since 2017.

“It worked last week,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “I might try that, bagged things to take to the charity shop. How long were your things out of Vinted before they were put back in?”

“I just did this. I did wonders,” said a fifth.

Someone else added: “I’ll try this tomorrow.”
