WITH a license to rummage through celebrity closets and detox mountains of designer clothes, the Style Sisters are organization experts.
And now, they’ve shared their 42p hack that will help you fit TWICE as many clothes in your closet… even if you only have one in the corner.
Detox and organization duo Charlotte Reddington and Gemma Lilly have been restoring order to messy celebrity homes for over six years.
Luckily, they share a number of tips on social media for us regular folks to implement.
Because who doesn’t want a wardrobe makeover with the same tricks and gadgets you’d find on Michelle Keegan, Rochelle Humes and Amanda Holden?
In a recent piece, Charlotte took to Instagram Stories to share “the one thing” you need to buy if you want to organize your wardrobe.
Gone are the days of messy piles on the floor and clothes slipping off plastic hangers.
The organization’s experts recommended that we all invest in some fine velvet hangers.
“I can guarantee this piece will change your life,” said Charlotte, as she wore it in her latest client’s wardrobe.
“We already have half more in that wardrobe than we had before.
“That’s just swapping out the wooden, plastic and wire hangers for these.”
The exact ones the Style Sisters used were the SONGMICS set of 30 velvet hangers.
They can be bought on Amazon for £15.47, but are currently on sale for £12.59 – meaning each hanger costs 42p a pop.
“They come in so many different colors and nothing escapes them,” Charlotte added.
“They have little ridges so clothes fit well in them.
“Honestly, when they’re all lined up together, looking nice and tidy, it’s like you have your own store.
The Style Sisters’ Top 3 Organization Tips

Charlotte Reddington and Gemma Lilly have over 15 years experience organizing and staging celebrity homes…
- Out with the old, before in with the new
“It may seem a little cruel, but a one-in, one-out rule in your home and closet can be effective in preventing excessive accumulation of items in your home,” they said.
“It can also make you more conscious of the purchases you are making.”
“In any space, big or small – from a pantry to your makeup box – organizing items by category is the perfect way to stay super organized,” they said.
“This lets you know exactly where everything is and what you have.
“Plus, it will be very easy for the rest of the family to store and keep tidy.”
- Storage, storage and more storage!
“Storage is key, especially if space is an issue in the home or if the room is used for items such as storing children’s toys,” they said.
“Consider decorative storage baskets, sideboards with plenty of storage space, or even a media wall or bookcases with doors.”
“These are the only items we recommend you buy if you are detoxing and organizing your wardrobe.”
A blurb on the slim velvet hangers says: “Covered in soft velvet, these non-slip hangers provide cozy support for even the most delicate garments,
“Without the worry of them falling to the floor, the 360-degree swivel hooks make it easy to put on and take off clothes.
“On these velvet hangers, your clothes will always stay in good condition, so you can start your day looking stylish.
“Shoulder grooves help organize dresses and skirts with straps.”
