SUPERMARKET shoppers are going wild over a new set of pajamas from Sainsbury’s that they consider a “direct necessity”.

In recent years, Sainsbury’s has seriously upped its fashion game – whether it’s a cute sundress that won’t break the bank or a set that doubles as a wedding guest outfit.

And as if we needed even more convincing to head to our local supermarket this week, Sainsbury’s has sent shoppers into a frenzy with an adorable new pajama design.

Meet your new favorite loungewear set – Traditional Pajamas with Blue Stripe Croissant Print – which is the perfect way to welcome the weekend.

The cute print celebrates our favorite carbolic treat – the buttery croissant – as well as your morning drink.

In traditional style, the set includes a long-sleeved pajama shirt and matching pajama pants – what better way to ease into a Saturday morning with a relaxing breakfast.

The PJs, which come in a range of sizes from UK 8 to UK 24, retail for a bag-friendly £20.

However, if you’re as obsessed with them as we, the team at Fabulous, are, you’ll need to act fast – as some sizes are already low on stock.

The fantastic offer, which will give shoppers 20 Nectar points, has already become a huge hit on social media, where one customer, Libbie May Fitzpatrick, dubbed them “the cutest” ever.

I’m not a doorman, Libbie (@libbiemayfitzpatrick) took to TikTok, where she shared the incredible and sweet discovery with other fashionistas.

“OMG so, so cute,” the style lover wrote of the ensemble, which she described as “top notch.”

It wasn’t just Libbie who loved the croissant design – dozens of viewers were raving about the design, flocking in the comments below the video to tag your friends.

‘We need them for the holidays’, Primark fans cry as they see new soda pajamas that are a ‘summer staple’

“Buy these for France,” one person told their friend.

Another person told their friends that PJs were “a need, pure and simple” and not a want.

”Sainsbury’s need to stop pajamas, I’m too weak, I can’t resist!!!” shouted one shopper.

“Sainsbury’s pajamas are elite!”, a fan of the store praised the brand.

“I’m not even getting excited because the worst Sainsbury’s is my Sainsbury’s,” commented another who seemed to have no luck finding the trendy pajamas that everyone loves.

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you go to do your weekly food shopping, you can also choose from a selection of stylish, purse-friendly pieces for the whole family.

Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent rise for the quarter thanks to “strong growth in clothing” and M&S has claimed the title of number one womenswear destination on the high street.

Asda’s clothing line George made £1.5m for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons also rose by 2 percent last year.

So what is it about grocery fashion that is becoming so successful?

Not only are the clothes really affordable, they’re also good quality – many of them being part of programs like the Better Cotton Initiative.

They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.

Plus, because they buy so much inventory, they can deliver parts quickly and buy cheaper because of volumes.

It’s not just these croissant-print pajamas that shoppers have been loving — their latest sleepwear collection is said to be giving off major “coastal summer vibes.”

One such hit, Tu White Broderie Hem Traditional Pajamas, has been reduced from £20 to £15 – and there’s another fashion favorite that fans are going crazy over.

The traditional Tu Blue Stripe pajamas are the brand’s second best seller and are currently priced at just £13.50, down from £18.
