MAYA Jama has long been showbiz royalty – and there’s no doubt she’s a fashion queen too.

Her style really came to the fore when she replaced Laura Whitmore as the new host of Love Island last year, with her innovative outfits often selling out.

This week, the 29-year-old turned heads with what some fans are calling her sexiest outfit ever on the show.

She wore a daring latex number for the Casa Amor reunion episode, which featured bold flame-shaped straps.

The £600 dress is by London-based designer Poster Girl and is available in black and red.

Aware of the standards she has set in her fashion, Maya told The Sun last year: “The pressure is on my stylist because the dresses turned out really well in the last series.

“We haven’t decided yet, but I said I want to look beachy, sexy and fun.”

From sexy cutout dresses that showed off her incredible figure to scene-stealing red carpet numbers, here we look at the outfits that prove Maya has the Midas touch.

300% increase in sales

Maya made a big splash on her Island debut last year when she stepped out of a helicopter in Cape Town wearing a red crochet two-piece set.

The combination was handmade by businesswoman Sierra Ndagire, who says she stayed up all night to make sure it was perfect.

After the episode aired, the designer said she experienced a huge increase in sales and interest.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: “It was shocking, very emotional, I didn’t care if she wore it or not, the request in itself was a great complement.

She had so many people ordering £200 clothes in different colors that it led to a 300% increase in sales.

Clicks to their website also increased by 1,000%. It’s worth spending the night, Sierra!

Maya clearly likes crochet dresses too.

For this season’s launch, she looked incredible in a £464 handmade minidress by designer Korlekie Otufu.

In the same episode where she wore the crochet dress, Maya also appeared in a cut-out, tight-fitting black piece that almost broke the internet.

The star looked breathtaking in a £1,500 maxi dress from Eli Mizrahi’s luxury brand Mônot, which featured a halter neckline and cheeky cutouts under her breasts.

Hundreds of people took to the internet to talk about how stunning she looked as she walked down the catwalk to speak to the new islanders.

Fans who were hoping to buy the look were disappointed, however, shortly after the scenes aired, the dress was already sold out.

Launch in style

Although this year’s All-Star series received mixed reviews, Maya’s fashion choices have always been a big hit.

For the launch episode, Maya wore a sheer white dress with a thigh-high slit.

The halter dress showed off her remarkable figure.

She paired the look with metallic heeled flip-flops and wore her long hair curly. She also kept it simple with minimal jewelry and makeup.

Fans can get their hands on the Marcia maxi dress from Mixedgals, which costs £390.

For the launch of the current season, Maya looked equally stylish. She wore a black sequin dress also with a daring thigh-high slit.

The dress was meticulously made exclusively for Maya by designer Genevieve Devine.

She said: “Each leather disc was individually punched from reclaimed leather cuts and joined together by hand in our London studio, with leather straps and chain closures.”

For the All Stars final earlier this year, Maya entered the villa in a floor-length backless dress.

To match the sexy number, she wore an expensive pair of heels – the GEDEBE Dita mules, which cost almost £1,000.

Social media was flooded with fans who were amazed by the elegant look.

One tweeted: “OH MY GOD,” while another said: “Now is the last look.”

Show thief

On an episode of Love Island in February, Maya once again had all eyes on her as she entered the villa in a red satin jumpsuit and matching velvet wrap skirt.

The two-piece set by American designer LaQuan Smith – who has dressed the likes of Beyoncé – remains one of his most talked about looks.

It featured an asymmetrical bodysuit with a high neck, complemented by draped shoulders and various cutouts – clearly one of her favorites.

She also wore a midi-length wrap skirt, which perfectly accentuated her curvaceous body.

While the skirt can still be found on the designer’s website for £745, the bodysuit appears to be sold out.

While many eager islanders trembled in fear at the sight of Maya, viewers at home were always guaranteed a surprise thanks to her incredible wardrobe.

During a double eviction, she looked mesmerizing in a semi-sheer dress from emerging fashion brand Fanci Club, loved by celebrities like Dua Lipa.

Maya once again proved that red is her color with her dress, which had a floral design on the left shoulder and a plunging neckline.

After she was seen in that specific color, tickets were completely sold out, with many fans having to resort to idiots.

In demand

During the show’s initial collaboration, Maya made an excellent first impression in a stunning blue and green tie-dye dress by Roberto Cavalli.

It featured all of Maya’s fashion details — a plunging, form-fitting neckline and a tiered ruffled skirt.

But despite being part of the high-end designer’s Resort 2023 collection and in high demand, it wasn’t available for purchase.

Instead, several publications offered readers similar versions that they could purchase.

Influencing idiots

Maya was praised for featuring luxury brands at the show, which has long-standing partnerships with fast fashion stores like I Saw It First and Oh Polly.

But many of the items she used were extremely expensive, some running into the thousands.

As a result, several brands have come up with gimmicks, including Pretty Little Thing, which was criticized for trying to recreate her Mônot dress.

At just £28, eagle-eyed fans were quick to call out the company, tweeting: “No one is doing it like Queen Maya, so behave.”

Another joked: “When you copy the A star student and get an F.”

In subsequent seasons, many fans rushed to retail websites to find iconic clothing.
