PRIMARK fans have gone frantic after discovering a new summer essential inspired by a 90s classic.
The high street retailer is known for creating collections to pay homage to Disney favorites and the nostalgic films we grew up with, whether it’s Lilo & Stitch or High School Musical and Hannah Montanna.
And now the collection of discounted favorites is expanding once again as the Shrek line hits store shelves.
The green ogre-themed range, which became available to the public earlier this year, offers a range of goodies including Shrek-print short pajamas, a pack of three socks for £4.50 and oversized t-shirts.
But as well as going crazy over its stylish hoodies, slippers and even wash bags, Primark fans have recently noticed another addition – Shrek Wrap Towel and Bandana Set.
At an affordable £12, the Wrap Towel is the hottest summer item you need, whether you’re relaxing on the beach or soaking up the sun by the pool.
This season’s must-have, sure to come in handy for anyone traveling abroad, is available in sizes XS/S to L/XL – and if you want to show your love for this unconventional fairy tale, do so in the real one. swamp style with this self-care-ready towel and bandana set.
”Made from a soft cotton fabric in an iconic green, this set features a wrap towel with thick handles, a self-adhesive strip and a Shrek design, as well as a coordinating elastic headband complete with adorable ogre ears,” ‘ Primark wrote in the product description.
”Now your love for iconic films will never be so far away!”
If you’re as obsessed with the 2000s classic as we, the team at Fabulous, are, you won’t be surprised to see that the piece has already become a huge hit on social media.
A customer at the store, Katie (@Catherine Clark), recently took to TikTok to share the discovery with his followers and other Shrek superfans.
”New at Primark”, wrote Katie in the caption of the clipalongside a heart-eyed emoji.
After the shopper showed off what the green outfit looked like from every angle, dozens of viewers flocked to the comments to share their thoughts and tag their friends.
“I think we should all heed this,” one person told their friend.
“I need this,” said another who considered the £12 purchase not a want but a need.
The history of Primark
PRIMARK first opened in 1969 as Pennies in Dublin, hoping to offer affordable fashion in Ireland.
A Primark store officially opened as Primark in 1974 in Derby.
The retailer now has 193 stores in the UK and 441 stores worldwide, with a target of operating 530 stores by the end of 2026.
“Primark is always with the hits,” praised one customer of the high street favorite.
“Oh my days,” a quarter couldn’t believe the bargain.
In addition to 191 stores across the UK, Primark also has 24 US branches across eight different states.
But Shrek fans still insist they are “crying American style” after realizing they will struggle to get their hands on merchandise from the film.
