Next to the clip, the caption read ‘Arriving in the best outfits for summer vacation! Shop summer fashion essentials online and in stores now – prices from £12.’

Amy kicked things off in the stunning black polka dot and strappy maxi dress, as she smiled: “It was just £26. “So cute, how beautiful.”

She then wore a green double-breasted blazer and matching shorts, as she continued: “The color, fit and quality of this outfit is absolutely beautiful.

“We have pockets – pockets make people happy. Elite clothing.”

Amy then showed off her new straw hat, which cost £12, and a £16 swimsuit, as she explained: “So to match the hat, naturally I had to buy a swimsuit.

“This is like shapewear, and for £4 these [flip flops] They were a bargain.”

Next, the fashionista modeled a beautiful yellow satin midi dress and was thrilled with her purchase at the supermarket.

I found George’s perfect summer set in Asda – it costs £14 for the full outfit and is ideal for hot weather

“Wonderful. I don’t think I need to say anything more about this dress – I loved it.”

Amy then tried on a matching black embroidered pajama set, which costs just £16, and concluded: “These are awesome Cool just to be pajamas, so I’m going to style them. There are no rules for fashion.”

Amy styled the pajama set with a pair of tiny heels and smiled, “This is the cutest outfit.

“Actually, I think most of you will agree with me, I think this is my favorite outfit.”

Reasons to buy supermarket fashion

When looking for new pieces to add to your seasonal wardrobe or update basics, there’s no need to spend hours wandering around clothing stores or browsing online. Just grab a dress or two along with your fruits and vegetables…

They are convenient – You are likely to visit your supermarket more often than a shopping center or high street.

It’s affordable – From basics to more fashion-forward pieces, supermarkets are paving the way for budget-friendly fashion that doesn’t look cheap.

They are more fashionable than you think – With a customer database larger than the average high street store, stores such as ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are able to serve markets and forecast trends in many more areas than just food supply.

They fit well – Fits and lengths often come with a little more modesty in mind. The fabrics also tend to be highly practical – think plenty of 100% cotton that can be thrown into the washing machine without thinking.

REACTION FROM FASHION FANS

The Instagram video has clearly impressed many as, at the time of writing, it has quickly racked up 2,333 likes in just four days.

Fashionistas were excited about their Asda purchases and many took to the comments to express this.

100% too good to be PJs!

Another added: “I love this green outfit.”

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you go to do your weekly food shopping, you can also choose from a selection of stylish, purse-friendly pieces for the whole family.

Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent rise for the quarter thanks to “strong growth in clothing” and M&S has claimed the title of number one womenswear destination on the high street.

Asda’s clothing line George made £1.5m for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons also rose by 2 percent last year.

So what is it about supermarket fashion that is so successful?

Not only are the clothes really affordable, they’re also good quality – many of them being part of programs like the Better Cotton Initiative.

They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.

Plus, because they buy so much inventory, they can deliver parts quickly and buy cheaper because of volumes.

A third commented: “I love everything.”

At the same time, many social media users were particularly impressed by the pajama set.

One fashion fan smiled: “I love the pajamas.
