FASHION fans are outraged over a thong-inspired design gone wrong.
They mocked a designer’s unique skirt, with many saying people should keep their private parts private.
Many hit $390 Panty Pencil Midi Skirt from Vaquerawhich features layered lace panty detailing on the front and back of the skirt.
The black version of the skirt includes a pink lace panty, while a miniskirt version includes a black pair.
The miniskirt, currently on sale for $161, originally sold for $535.
Fashion enthusiasts criticized the bold piece, and many were repulsed by the concept.
One commenter felt that even the model wearing the product in the photos looked unhappy being in it.
“Something about the male gaze? Because the models look so unhappy,” they said.
“I would attribute that to the fetishists.”
Others couldn’t help but agree.
“She looks like a disheveled mother in 15th century France,” joked one commenter.
“She looks like a cult member,” added another.
Many questioned the designer’s intention when creating the piece.
“Why are they sexualizing modestly dressed people by stapling their underwear? What is the philosophical reason for this?” asked one.
“To start imagining modest women in their underwear?
“Women who dress modestly don’t want to be imagined wearing underwear.
“I can’t think of a good message behind it.”
“Somehow this outfit manages to look dowdy AND inappropriate at the same time!” added another.
One critic revealed how scared they were if they went out in public in the attack.
“It’s like, ‘I just took this out of the dryer but I’m out of fabric softener,’” they said.
“Ma’am, there are panties stuck to your dress,” added another.
