On social media, she asked for some advice about her wedding dress and hoped to wear it later too.

She wrote: “Can I wear something like this to a wedding (with heels)?

‘I go with slightly 50s styles and this color, and I would like sleeves (it’s an autumn and Catholic wedding).’

But it seemed like she wasn’t sure of the style when she added, “Is it too teacher-like?”

The dress in question was from Amazon and cost £35.52 and came in five colors, but she opted for red.

The dress reached just below the knees and had a collar, long sleeves and was fully buttoned.

It also featured a tie belt to cinch around the waist.

Amazon bosses say: “An elegant dress, perfect for any event.

“Essential and flattering casual dress for work.”

But it seemed like not everyone was impressed with the look and she even admitted to wanting to wear it daily too.

She continued: “And to be honest, I thought to myself that I can save it to use The office after the wedding “

The post went viral on Mothers Network and many people took to the comments to share their thoughts.

It seemed like everyone agreed that the outfit was too casual for a wedding and looked more like office attire.

One person wrote: “This is more like something I would wear to the office.

Clothing Etiquette for Wedding Guests

If you’re struggling to decide on a dress for wedding season, here are some rules on what not to wear so you don’t get into trouble.

  • Folklore says that wearing red to a wedding means you slept with the groom.
  • Casual attire like jeans and flip-flops should always be avoided.
  • Any color that can be chosen like white or cream – even if it isn’t.
  • Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered.
  • Wearing white is a big no-no if you’re not the bride.

Another commented: “No, it’s too casual. It will look like you didn’t bother to make any effort.”

“Seems a little casual to me. Again, something I would wear to the office in the summer,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Too casual.”

“It’s too casual for a wedding, it would look like you couldn’t be bothered to make an effort,” said a fifth.

Someone added: “What? That sounds terrible.”
