Describing the pants, the Marks & SpencerThe company website says: “Carefully crafted with a high elastic waistband and a touch of stretch for maximum comfort.”
And priced at £17.50, shoppers are rushing to stores to snag a pair.
The pants that combine classic and contemporary styles have been praised by thousands of fashion fans.
Many took to the fashion website itself to leave a review, as well as other online forum sites including Mumsnet.
The baggy pants were rated “excellent” by shoppers, who praised them for being “dressed up or down.”
One fashion fan, who called them ‘excellent’ for quality and value for money, added: “So smart. Easy to use.”
Others praised the product for being “exactly what they wanted.”
Some fashion fans were confused by the wide leg and took advantage Mothers Network to share your thoughts.
One said: “Keep seeing that baggy pants are the way to go, skinnies, straight, etc., especially over 50.
“M&S is also heavily promoted here.
I ordered a pair online, I had to wait because they were out of stock. I got them today.
I look like I’m wearing a pair of flares from the 70s! They are very unflattering, there is too much material. I don’t know if it’s because I’m tall, but they look horrible.
“I think I’ll go back to straight-leg jeans, thank you very much. So much for fashion!
However, not everyone agreed with her and were quick to share their positive comments about the pants and how well they work for long legs.
One shopper wrote: “I love my flared leg pants. I’m also tall (sort of) and have no noticeable waist.
“But I hated skinny legs. I went pantsless for ten years, covering my legs as needed with leggings or yoga pants. The yoga pants had flared ankles.
