EDGY fashion with bold, rebellious and unique details has quickly become this summer’s rising trend.

And with music icons like Charli XCX, Chappell Roan and Dua Lipa flaunting their unapologetic vibes and style, it’s no wonder it’s taking over the fashion industry.

The quirky stars have been showing off their statement pieces and experimental style all over social media.

And the distinct yet cohesive look stood out so much that it was dubbed the Brat Girl look.

Charlie XCX summed up the Brat Girl aesthetic like this: “You’re that girl who’s a little rowdy and loves to party and maybe says dumb things sometimes.

“She’s honest, direct and a little volatile. That’s Brat.”

And as it’s officially becoming Brat Girl summer, the experts at New Look have rounded up some of their top items to help fashionistas create their own Brat wardrobe.

The full outfit costs just £20.50 and is perfect to wear both in Scotland and on holiday.

It consists of a stunning black rhinestone mesh top with a matching split hem midi skirt.

The strapless top fits perfectly across the chest with a thinner layer of fabric on top.

It goes perfectly with the tight skirt that has a thicker bottom layer that prevents the butt from being exposed.

It has a mesh skirt with a slit that reaches mid-thigh, exposing your legs.

Both garments are covered in different sized rhinestones that make them sparkle under the light.

It’s a bold look that effortlessly sets off and elevates any party style.

To finish off the look, you can pair it with a pair of large and quirky black tortoiseshell sunglasses.

The crop top is just £8 and the matching skirt is just £9, each reduced from its original price by more than 50 per cent.

They’re part of New Look’s huge online summer sale, with the top and skirt originally costing £15.99 and £27.99 respectively.

While sunglasses have dropped from £10.99 to just £3.50 – making them almost 70% cheaper.

And if you don’t mind spending an extra £13.99, you can buy the perfect Black Cross body bag to complete the look.[ickuptheperfectBlackCrossbodybagtocompletethelook[ickuptheperfectBlackCrossbodybagtocompletethelook

Describing it on the website, bosses say it “goes perfectly with any outfit” with its “neutral color and simple design.”

How New Look reinvented itself from a store for teenagers

by fabulous fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend

“REMEMBER how on a Saturday you would meet up with your friends in the city or downtown to look around the shops? Well, if you were like me, you would end up with a new look.” says Clemmie Fieldsend.

“New Look has always been one of those stores that when all else failed you could count on it for whatever you needed.

Your university uniform, night out or club outfit – whatever it took, you could count on New Look to meet your style needs.”

Clemmie says: “I felt like I was leaving New Look and thought of it as a younger brand that wouldn’t have what I wanted, but a quick browse through the website or stores proved me wrong.

“This summer they are serving up some fashionable delights, from clothing to accessories and, of course, comfortable footwear.

“They recently roped in Nadine Coyle from Girls Aloud for an exclusive spring edit, as well as fashion influencer Georgina Lennon.

“They’re providing quality basics, elevated stables, and on-trend designs that echo the new look we all love, but a little more grown up.”
