CHOOSING a wedding dress can be complicated, as you don’t want to miss the mark.

She shared photos of the burgundy dress, which had spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline.

Although the dress was floor-length, it was form-fitting and had a high slit down the legs.

Meanwhile, the dress had a low back with a lace-up corset style design.

The bridesmaid wrote Reddit: “Suitable as a wedding guest dress?

“I’m at a wedding where we selected our own bridesmaids dresses in the same color scheme.

“The bride wants us to use the same color and material, but with different designs.

“Another girl chose my first choice before me, so this is another option I’m considering, but I’m wondering if it’s very sexy?”

Immediately people were quick to voice their opinions about the burgundy dress.

One said: “This is the classic Jessica Rabbit dress.” [referring to the sexy cartoon character].

Another added: “I think it gives off attention-seeking vibes.”

People are furious when they see the bride’s mother’s VERY bridal white outfit, saying she’s a ‘red wine solution’ waiting to happen

A third wrote: “Kind of a difficult question for me.

“This dress is right on the edge of what I would consider too sexy for a wedding guest, but it really depends on the audience.

“I’ve certainly seen people wearing similar things at weddings I’ve been to, but it’s usually just a few people. Most wear things that are a little more modest.

“If you have big, enlarged breasts like that, people are going to notice, and not in a good way, at someone else’s wedding.”

However, some people defended the bridesmaid dress.

One wrote: “If the bride is okay with it, go for it. I don’t think that’s very sexy.

“The model’s poses definitely are, but I think you’ll be posing more normally in the photos haha.”

Why You Should Never Wear White to a Wedding

JOSIE Griffiths, deputy editor of Fabulous, who is getting married this year, shared her views on wearing white to a wedding…

Josie Griffiths said: I tend to consider myself low maintenance from a fashion and beauty perspective.

I can leave the house in 20 minutes in the morning, I usually do my mascara on the bus or subway, and I spend my work days at home in my gym gear.

But when it comes to my wedding this summer, everything has gone out the window.

Professional hair and makeup is scheduled for 8am, I’ve changed into all my wedding dress, bought designer shoes, and even bought a second dress for the evening.

So when I think about someone wearing a white dress on my big day, yes, I think I would be very angry.

The idea of not wearing a white dress goes back to not wanting to ‘outshine the bride’.

Which, to be fair, is unlikely. Not only did she spend a small fortune on the day’s look, but she’s also one of only two people in attendance who knows (and hopefully likes) all of the guests.

So the main risk you run is looking really silly – and being gossiped about by strangers.

A wedding guest I met in October 2022 is still etched in my mind. I still don’t know which was worse: the fact that she was so drunk that she was bumping into people on the dance floor, or her decision to wear a white dress, which was arguably made better by the glass of red wine she drank drunk. She went down alone.

I know weddings are expensive for everyone and it’s fair if you don’t want to buy a whole new outfit – I’m all for repurposing what’s already in your wardrobe.

Just avoid the white dress for the bride’s sake – and yours.

The bridesmaid responded, “The bride said she is fine with this option, but I want to buy something that I can wear again as a wedding guest. future weddings too.

But what do wedding planners say is the rule when it comes to guest attire?

Wedding planner and event designer Caroline Larocca told Fabulous: “I’m not saying don’t be sexy, but being too revealing to the point of being trashy doesn’t seem appropriate.”

Caroline explained that a good rule of thumb is to choose either the top or bottom to show skin, but never both.

Bright colors like neon and loud prints should be avoided at weddings.

Of course, there is a way to use prints and bright colors well, but Caroline recommended not taking the risk if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing.

“This is not the time to experiment with fashion,” she explained.

Not only that, but neon colors can ruin wedding photos, especially if everyone else is blending in and you’re sticking out like a sore thumb.
