A SUPERMARKET skirt has been hailed as a “wardrobe hero” that can be worn in any season – and costs just £22.
Fashion fans were excited to buy from Sainsbury after spotting it on the shelves.

The ‘Light Green Crinkle Maxi Skirt’ is available in an inclusive size range from 8 to 24 and is the perfect lightweight material for summer.
Sainsbury’s bosses say: “You’ll look and feel great in our bright green maxi skirt.
It has an elastic waistband, a relaxed fit and is made from wrinkled satin fabric.
“Wear with black sandals and throw on a black blazer for a modern style option.”
Tu Clothing creative stylist Katrina also praised the “must-have” skirt that is “easy to wear” with any outfit.
She said: “[It’s] the foundation of any wardrobe and will carry you from one season to the next.
“Maxi skirts are a wardrobe hero and very easy to wear.
“Pair with sneakers and a tee for a daytime look, or throw on your favorite heels to take you into the evening.”
And shoppers seem to be in complete agreement, as one said: “This sage green midi skirt is a gorgeous holiday color and so easy to dress up or down.”
“Oh, I loved the sage skirt,” said someone else.
A third wrote: “The green skirt is perfect.”
A fourth chimed in: “Argh, I’m obsessed!”
“I’ve been loving You this summer,” exclaimed a fifth.
Meanwhile, a sixth added: “This is a beautiful skirt. It’s not very green, I would say it borders on a yellowish green. “
It’s not the only Tu Clothing piece that’s been causing a frenzy among fashion fans recently.
The supermarket’s ‘Black Smudge Spot Crinkle Mesh Midaxi Dress’ has been hailed as a “statement piece” that can be worn in summer AND autumn – and it costs just £20.
Her creative stylist, Katrina, told shoppers to pair the “gorgeous” column dress with some gold jewelry for the perfect summer night out look.
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you go to do your weekly food shopping, you can also choose from a selection of stylish, purse-friendly pieces for the whole family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent rise for the quarter thanks to “strong growth in clothing” and M&S has claimed the title of number one womenswear destination on the high street.
Asda’s clothing line George made £1.5m for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons also rose by 2 percent last year.
So what is it about grocery fashion that is becoming so successful?
Not only are the clothes really affordable, they’re also good quality – many of them being part of programs like the Better Cotton Initiative.
They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.
Plus, because they buy so much inventory, they can deliver parts quickly and buy cheaper because of volumes.
