A SHOPPING fan ordered what she thought was a beautiful dress online, but all she could do was laugh at the sight of the dress that actually showed up on her doorstep.
Not only did the style look nothing like the one shown in the photo, but viewers were also shocked by the construction of the not-so-luxe item.
Fashionista Evita (@eviitaa_x) buys elaborate dresses on discount shopping sites – but they don’t always arrive looking the way they did on the site.
One of the dresses was so comically bad that she went viral on TikTok after showing off the purchase in a video.
She began the clip with a close-up of the item she thought she ordered before pulling back to reveal the dress that had arrived.
“What you ask for versus what you get,” she wrote in the on-screen text.
The original image showed a long rose gold dress with a high, asymmetrical slit on the right side and a sheer train in the back.
DISASTER DRESS
Sequin and diamond details were accentuated by a sweetheart neckline and an off-the-shoulder sleeve.
The exquisitely designed dress looked nothing like the piece Evita had received in the mail.
She couldn’t help but laugh as she modeled the cheap dress she received in her place.
The TikToker struck a pose with her hand on her hip while holding her phone close to her body to compare the two looks.
Instead of a breathtaking multi-layered outfit, she wore what looked like a child’s Halloween costume.
Not only was the color off, but the sequins were replaced with a pattern of black, white, and gray pixelated dots.
The side slit reached up to her waist, and she had to wear white biker shorts in the video to stay covered.
The original dress was also supposed to have cutouts and a plunging neckline, but these were replaced with peach fabric swatches meant to mimic the look of bare skin.
REAL REACTIONS
Evita’s video was viewed more than 3.5 million times and thousands of viewers commented on the fashion failure.
“Literally nothing could have prepared me for what you actually received, because WHAT???” wrote one TikTok user.
Another person joked that it was “like someone sent her a drawing of the dress photo.”
“I hope it was a BIG DEAL… I want to know the price”, asked another.
“Much more than you would expect,” she replied.
A third commenter couldn’t get over the construction of the dress, writing, “This is crazy. The fur inserts! Best ever!”
Many people were amused by the situation and couldn’t resist making jokes about the dress.
“It’s literally the same thing. I don’t understand,” joked one viewer.
“How did you know the difference?” another asked.
