A SHOPPER has been called “greedy” after sharing her huge haul of yellow sticker bargains.
At the end of each day, most supermarkets reduce the price of some items that are about to become out of date by placing a yellow sticker on them.
A shopper, who wanted to take advantage of discounts at her local Sainsbury’s, snatched up a large quantity of discounted products during a recent shopping trip.
She was able to purchase a wide range of items, from Taste the Difference salmon for just £2.24, to a whole chicken for less than £3.
The bargain lover also stocked up on several breads, some sauces and a selection of sweets.
Posting in Yellow Sticker Tips, Tricks and Shoppinga private Facebook group with 174,300 members, Kay shared a Photograph of their discoveries.
In the photo, Kay’s discounted products can be seen covering her entire kitchen counter.
Kay, who is retired, said despite her huge purchase, there were still plenty of other discounted items in the store for others to enjoy.
However, some Facebook users took to the comments section of her post to get the savvy shopper greedy.
Commenting on the fact that there were a lot of perishable items (like bread and meat) in Kay’s yellow sticker pack, which will be out of date in a day or two, one person said: “Greedy, you really need all that food ?
“How much will be wasted?
“This could have gone to someone else who needed it.”
Another person complained: “If I have the opportunity to get items with yellow stickers it doesn’t happen very often because people are the ones taking the lot.”
Responding to a Facebook user who asked which supermarket Kay had visited, another person fumed: “Why?
However, many people supported Kay’s great achievement.
One person said: “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking the lot if you can use it all.
“Times are difficult and although it is Cool To think of others, you need to do what you can to make sure you feed yours because no one else will take care of yours but you.
