A MUM has told how all her dreams came true when she swept a supermarket in real life.

Georgina Griffiths had five minutes to pop into her local Aldi and pick up almost anything she wanted.

She filled six trolleys in the frantic dash and walked away with more than £620 worth of treats, and double that amount for charity.

She packed the freezer and cupboards and figures she got at least a month’s worth of groceries during her grueling run.

Georgina revealed it was something she had wanted to do since watching Dale Winton’s hit game show when she was young.

She said: “It really was every 90s kid’s dream experience.

“Growing up and watching the original series was always something I wanted to do. When the opportunity arose, I knew I had to apply.

“The team made it really exciting and they were my own ‘pit crew’ as they called themselves.

“It was everything I expected.”

A friend shared the applications in a group chat and bartender Georgina took down her application as quickly as possible.

She was shocked when Aldi bosses came back and told her she had won the chance to raid the shelves at the Aberdeen beach store.

As she has two two-year-old twin boys and a four-year-old daughter, she devised a strategy to obtain essential items.

How to get the best deals at Aldi

Everything was up for grabs except drinks and some special non-food purchases.

Georgina said: “I have three young children, so my priorities were nappies and children’s snacks, cat food and meat to stock our freezer.

“I had a route plan that I would follow for each priority item and I followed my plan.

“It was so fast I didn’t have a chance to catch my breath. I was exhausted.”

Everything Georgina picked up she took home and chose Cfine food bank as her chosen charity.

She accumulated £625.87 worth of items and found an inflatable beach ball, which meant Aldi doubled the total and donated it to Cfine.

Georgina said: “I forgot some things I was hoping to get, like some cleaning products.

“But overall I was happy with what I managed to achieve in those 5 minutes.

“Luckily, I have a big freezer, so I found room for all the frozen foods and meats.

“But most of the items are in my closet under the stairs for future use.”

How do Aldi special buys work?

ALDI Special Buys are often snapped up quickly, making them some of the most coveted items on sale at the supermarket.

The Aldi Specialbuys aisle is the first place shoppers can find Aldi’s most amazing products that are available in stores or about to hit stores soon.

Aldi Specialbuys appear in store every Thursday and Sunday while stocks last!

While all Aldi Specialbuys launch every Thursday and Sunday, shoppers can browse online the Friday before to see what’s in store before venturing out to shop.

Georgina’s partner is also a big fan of the original show, where contestants went crazy in the aisles.

So he was thrilled with her and as delighted as the children with all the delicious produce she brought home from that unusual day.

Georgina said: “It was a once in a lifetime experience.

“The Aldi team really made it special and got involved in cheering me on and changing trolleys when needed. A big thank you to them.

“I would do it all again if I had the chance.”
