A LUCKY Sainsbury’s customer left people gobsmacked after sharing his “incredible” grocery haul, with pieces of lamb reduced to just 10p.

With prices soaring, it’s no wonder many of us are on the lookout for yellow stickers and reduced bargains – and shopper Dong Lai is no exception.

The money-saving dad from Manchester recently shared photos of his huge grocery haul at Sainsbury’s, with food costing just 10p.

According to the lucky customer, who uploaded the photos to the popular Yellow Sticker Tips, Tricks and Shopping group on Facebook, they showed up at the local supermarket in the evening before closing time.

I’ve never seen reductions like this before, well done

The mega delivery included heaps of groceries including skinless salmon fillets, medium fat roast beef as well as shoulder of lamb, all scanned for just 10 cents.

While checking out the reduced items, Dong also bought packs of breaded chicken nuggets, packs of meatballs, and even a few ready meals like honey mustard pork with mash, plus a potato and pumpkin dish – again, for spare change .

Other incredible bargains at the Heaton Park branch included Kansas-style boneless beef ribs and pepper beef, both costing more than the eye-watering £6 before.

There were also some reductions in the bread section, with a delicious cheese and garlic flatbread reduced from £1.90 to just 10p, and a seeded loaf reduced from almost £2 to 10p.

Delighted with the incredible result, the foodie wrote in the caption: “Tonight at Sainsbury’s, all at 10pm around 9pm.”

However, despite insisting that everything had in fact been cut to save money, the post was also met with some skepticism.

Several colleagues in the group found it difficult to believe that the store would reduce prices by up to 60 times in some cases.

“Bullshit, not everything would cost 10 cents”, considered one person.

I’ve tried a new range of foods at Dunnes Stores and I have a favorite – they don’t take any effort to make

Another was also equally shocked, adding: ”Another was also equally shocked, adding: ”I don’t understand why stores would cut this amount so low when they are about to close?

”Surely you would sell it sooner for more to get rid of it, I have never seen anything like it in my store, can you tell me the location as I must be very unlucky.”

”Do you have a receipt, some think this is a scam?” A third demanded proof – however, Dong claimed the local branch of Sainsbury’s regularly offers such deals.

”It depends which Sainsbury’s it is, because mine is 10p every day.

”We have an amazing team at our Sainsbury’s!”

Fortunately, there were also a lot of positive comments, as many rushed to hit back at the trolls.

“I’ve never seen reductions like this before, well done!” wrote one.

”Wow!! What an absolute delight!! Very good!!” a second chimed in.

”It’s an incredible result. Good job. I would have to buy another freezer,” wrote another person.

When do supermarkets launch yellow sticker bargains?

The length of time supermarkets reduce their products varies between stores.

Here’s a rough supermarket-by-supermarket guide:

Aldi

Aldi uses a red sticker to show reductions on fresh produce such as bread, meat, fruit and vegetables.

This is when they reach the last day of validity.

Items with red stickers are most commonly found at opening and closing times.

IN

Reduction times may vary from store to store, but are most likely to occur close to closing time.

Asda

Asda said Which? that the yellow stickers are applied twice a day – morning and evening.

Cooperative

The Co-op told The Sun that its reduced clearance prices usually apply around four hours before the store closes.

Lidl

Lidl has a similar procedure to Asda and Aldi with twice-daily reductions.

However, individual stores may choose to reduce prices throughout the day.

Morrison

Online shoppers said Morrisons has the best bargains first thing in the morning.

However, the store said Which? There are no specific times for yellow sticker price reductions.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s told The Sun that it is at the discretion of the store manager to offer discounts.

However, shoppers have reported that the best deals are in the evening from 6pm onwards.

Tesco

Tesco said there is no specific time for the reduction, but again, most people have found prices to be reduced from 6pm.

Waitrose

As with most other stores, Waitrose shoppers said the best reductions are found before closing.

However, the store stated that there is no specific time for the yellow stickers to be applied.
