PEOPLE were left in hysterics after a woman took to social media to share how her boyfriend tried to cook her a basic meal.

You might think that pasta is one of the easiest dishes to master, especially if you’re making it straight from the package—but this guy might have missed that memo.

Elle Grant took to TikTok to show the unusual way her boyfriend tried to make the food – and there wasn’t a drop of water in sight.

On TikTok, Elle said: “I asked this idiot to boil some pasta for me. He put it in the oven.”

In the clip she showed a baking tray lined with baking paper and a layer of dry dough on top.

Elle captioned the viral clip: “Please send HELP!!!”

“[Can] Can’t someone else’s boyfriend cook if his life depended on it?” she wrote about the video, which quickly went viral online.

So far, the video has over 1.5 million views and thousands of comments from confused foodies.

“This would ruin my whole day,” criticized one person.

And a second agreed that it was more than one failthey wrote: “This is a violation, how does the bro survive without you if he doesn’t know how to cook pasta properly?”

Another joked that the meal brought a new meaning to “baked pasta.”

But others thought Elle should have been tougher on her partner for screwing up, and some even thought he might have done it on purpose.

“Oh he knows what he is doing, he wants you to be his mother and do everything and if she does it wrong you will do it for him,” one said.

Another agreed: “The man knows exactly what he is doing. He will never be asked to cook anything again.”

“I swear to God my ex tried cooking my pizza, he gave me food poisoning and after that accident he wasn’t allowed to cook again,” said another person.

“If you’re still together after this, you’re a better woman than me,” added another foodie.

And one woman commented: “My ex claimed he didn’t know how to cook five years ago, but he learned very quickly when I broke up with him.”

Of course, Elle’s boyfriend should have boiled the pasta instead of putting it in the oven without any other ingredients.

But some food fans noted that he could have added some water and sauce to the pan and it might have worked.

Do I have food poisoning?

Food poisoning is rarely serious and usually improves within a week.

It’s hard to miss the symptoms, which include:

  • Feeling sick (nausea)
  • Diarrhea
  • Being sick (vomiting)
  • Stomach pain
  • A high temperature of 38°C or higher
  • Feeling generally unwell – such as tiredness or aches and chills
  • Symptoms usually begin a few days after eating the food that caused the infection.
  • Sometimes they start after a few hours or only after a few weeks

How to treat food poisoning

You can usually treat yourself or your child at home.

Symptoms usually disappear within a week.

The most important thing is to drink plenty of fluids, such as water or pumpkin, to avoid dehydration.

You should also see a doctor if, along with other symptoms, you have a high fever, blood in your stool, or feel dehydrated or unable to keep down any food or liquid.

Make sure to stay off school or work until you have not been sick or had diarrhea for at least 2 days.
