It comes as several savvy shoppers have revealed the little-known way they are stealing items for free – and it’s all thanks to a voucher that is often left at cash registers.

Among the bargain hunters is Rose Hargreaves, who has adopted a money-saving Facebook group Extreme Coupons and Bargains in the UK and shared a snapshot of a ‘Bold Platinum Washing Liquid Pods Cherry Blossom & Rose Water 29 Washes’ box.

Although the product usually retails for £8, she revealed how she managed to get her hands on it without spending a single penny.

“I got a voucher for a free box of bold platinum at Tesco, originally £8, and a lady next to me bought one for Ariel,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, another lucky customer called Chloe Hopkins also rushed online after snagging a free pack of ‘Pampers Baby Dry Pants Essential Pack Size 5 33 Nappies’, which usually costs £10.

Alongside the image, she wrote: “Free pack of nappies when you scan your Clubcard at Tesco. (The voucher comes with the receipt).

“Llanelli Tesco, but I believe this is present in all stores.”

It didn’t take long for the posts to rack up hundreds of likes and comments between them, with many eager to find out more.

“Is there a minimum spend first?” asked one social media user.

A helpful Tesco customer replied: “I don’t think so. I just bought honey, which cost about £3.80.”

Elsewhere, while some were desperate to get some freebies for themselves, others revealed they have already had great success.

I’m 5’8 and size 14-16 and I’m addicted to Tesco clothes and I found a tummy shaper swimsuit

“I’m loving these vouchers!” enthused one social media user.

“So far I’ve received a bottle of fairy laundry, Lenor perfume boosters, 3 packs of sanitary napkins, some Airwick refillable capsules and a dust collector for blinds.”

A second tagged a friend and pleaded: “You might want to keep an eye out to see if you can get one when you go to Tesco.”

A third pointed out: “It’s not just push-ups I bought for the new baby so I had to choose between sizes 1, 2 and 3.”

Meanwhile, a quarter informed others: “These are just random vouchers, not everyone has them and there is no minimum spend either.”

Another noted: “I got mine last week.”

And one more chimed in: “It’s the same with Sainsbury’s! You buy a pack with your nectar card (£4.50) and a voucher for a free pack comes with your receipt.”
