As part of a series on their TikTok page, they detailed their various bills and revealed they spent £2,000 on their mortgage alone.
Factoring in other items such as a £330 family gym membership, several cars that needed to be paid for and a £1,600 monthly grocery bill – their expenses soon started to mount.
In fact, they quickly discovered they were spending a staggering £12,000 a month on bills.
In a recent video, Jess told fans: “We spend £12,025 a month on our expenses and we wanted to get it back and make big changes to our lives.”
Mike then chimed in: “It’s just exorbitant. We cannot spend that amount.”
Realizing that most people spend that amount on mortgage deposits, the couple decided to make some changes – starting with their shockingly high food bill.
“One thing we discovered is that we want to combat food waste,” explained the mother of two.
Continuing, she added: “A lot of our food waste comes from vegetables.”
With fresh fruit and vegetables going to waste, parents were determined to make it easier for their children to enjoy a meal. healthy snack.
There were often grapes left over, as the family regularly bought pre-made bags from the supermarket – despite having a whole punnet at home.
Fed up with this, Jess decided to make her own fruit bags for the kids.
“They [the kids] they will easily go to Tesco and easily pick up one of those pre-packaged fruit bags,” she explained, adding: “So we made our own fruit bags.”
Using small plastic bags, the mother was able to create an easy snack for the kids without much effort.
Even better, the hack cost them less than 50 cents per bag — a bargain compared to what most supermarkets charge for pre-packaged fruit.
That’s because the parents managed to make the most of the deal and bought two punnets of grapes for just £2.50.
Instead of just doing this with leftover fruit, the couple also decided to try it with items that quickly disappeared from the fridge.
“Another thing, Chloe it’s demolishing an entire patch of strawberries,” the influencer complained, adding that her daughter regularly eats them all while sitting in her room.
Fed up with fruit constantly disappearing, Jess decided to distribute the fruit in bags too.
“We made bags again, so we know she can’t eat it all,” he added, revealing that strawberries can cost up to five pounds in the supermarket.
While this may not save you thousands at checkout, these little hacks will soon add up.

- Use social media – follow your favorite retailers to find out about the latest offers
- Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
