The fast food giant recently launched a new promotion which means you can buy three items for £3.

And according to fans, that means you walk away with extra nuggets to next for nothing.

One McDonald’s customer explained: “Mix and match any three deals for £3.

“A shared box of nuggets costs 20 for £5.99, so if you have two batches of the mix and match, you get 24 nuggets for £6, so an extra 4 nuggets for 1p.”

Basically, if you select three portions of nuggets for your “three for £3” deal, you’ll get 12 nuggets in total, as each portion contains four.

So if you buy the deal twice you’ll get 24 nuggets for £6.

If you compare this to the Chicken McNuggets Sharebox, which costs £5.99 for 20, you’ll get four extra McNuggets for just a penny more.

The “3 for £3” Mix ‘N’ Match menu is available in the UK and Ireland from Wednesday 22nd May.

And it comes just in time for the school term, when parents have more hungry mouths to feed.

The fast food favorite offers nine different menu items including McFlurry ice creams, McNuggets and burgers – all costing £1 each.

Bargain hunters will need to be quick as the deal will only last three weeks, until June 11th.

McDonald’s is set to make changes that will affect 150 million customers – they say it will improve the way people order food

How much you can save depends on the food you are looking for.

For example, a fries would normally cost £1.59 and an apple pie £1.89, although prices may vary depending on your location.

Also, don’t forget that there may be extra costs for delivery on top.

It’s also worth noting that if you’re ordering from McDelivery using the Maccies app, this deal will cost £4 instead of £3.

If you don’t want the same dish, the next best savings is an apple pie, fries and McFlurry.

This would normally cost £5.07, so you’ll save £2.07.

After the deal was revealed, it’s safe to say McDonald’s fans struggled to contain their excitement as they hunted for one of the year’s bargains.

What are McDonald’s chicken nuggets made of?

Contrary to popular belief, McDonald’s chicken nuggets are made from 100% chicken breast meat, according to the fast-food giant.

But chicken only makes up 45% of a McNugget – as the rest of the recipe is a combination of batter, seasonings and oil.

They are lightly battered before being topped with a second layer of tempura batter, which gives them the signature crunch we all know and love.

Once partially cooked in the fryer, they are cooled, frozen and packaged to be shipped to McDonald’s restaurants, where they are fully cooked.

The chicken is sourced from a number of local suppliers and farms across the UK.

McDonald’s states: “We are deeply committed to the health and well-being of all animals in our supply chain.

“That’s why we’re proud to only work with approved suppliers who adhere to our high standards, as well as those required by UK and EU legislation.”

“What a deal,” wrote one person on social media.

“I’m going to order the entire menu,” joked another.

A third person wrote: “This would be a killer bargain at today’s prices.”

Others even agreed it was “great for the kids” before the semester break.

McDonald’s also has a few more deals coming to stores on Monday, May 20th.
