Team Fabulous tests the latest bottles of rose – just in time for National Wine Day

THIS Saturday is National Wine Day and it would be rude not to raise a glass to celebrate.

With a bank holiday coming up and some sunshine arriving (fingers crossed), it’s the perfect time to welcome in your age of roses.

New research from the Spanish rose brand Ibiza Castle recently confirmed that a stunning sunset enhances the experience of drinking a glass of rose, as it enhances and enriches the senses.

These rose drinks are perfect for golden hour, whether it’s the girls’ drinks before going out, pairing with a family barbecue or just a cheeky after-work drink in the back garden.

Pink plonk isn’t sweet and sugary anymore, either—you’ll find pale, dry rose, stunning English sparkling wine, a brand-new blend that’s going viral, and even a prosecco-inspired rose cider, and all at great prices.

I confess that I was seduced by the beautiful bottle and the extremely pale color of this Spanish rose, and it did not disappoint.

Lovely and dry, without that burning back-of-your-throat flavor you get with some wines, I found it very drinkable, with a berry aftertaste that left me wanting more.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d say it was a much more expensive wine than it actually is.

I’ve really gotten into pale pink over the last year, after being a big lover of the sweeter Zinfandel variety.

And this Argentine organic wine hit the spot – it was very light and super easy to drink, without leaving much of an aftertaste, which I prefer.

With aromas of fresh wild berries and a touch of juicy watermelon, it is the perfect wine to enjoy on a sunny day.

And the best part is that a whole bottle to myself didn’t leave me with a dry mouth or wine in the morning – results!

At only ten dollars, I will definitely buy it again.

TikTok went crazy over Aldi’s unusual pink and orange hybrid wine, and the store moved out 5,000 bottles in the first week of sales — and I totally get the hype!

First off, how gorgeous the bottle is – that multi-faceted design and orange label is giving “Mediterranean vacation” – plus it matches my hair, so what’s not to love?

Flavor-wise, it’s actually a little pink and a little orange (a mix of tangerine, quince and apricot, apparently), bringing to mind a flat Aperol spritz and very much situated on the drier end of the wine spectrum rather than being sickeningly sweet.

In short, it’s the perfect sunny day drink for when you’ve overindulged on the rose and feel like a change.

And of course, it’s a great first step toward orange wine, which is also expected to be big this season.

I usually buy a cheap prosecco or cava when I’m shopping, so it’s a pleasure to find an affordable British sparkling wine near me in Kent.

I would definitely buy this again – it’s perfect for all the backyard get-togethers I have on my calendar this summer.

I’ve been going through alcohol-free slumps since 2021, so I’ve tried a lot of alcohol-free wines in my time.

Non-alcoholic wines of yesteryear are famous for being very sweet, but not this one: its acidic, fruity flavor will make your tastebuds spin.

If you don’t drink wine, this might be your choice – and for me, as I love a cider on a hot day – as this pink cider is made in the style of a prosecco.

Green-fingered legend Alan Titchmarsh called it “a wonderful lunchtime picnic drink”, and I’m inclined to agree – I expected it to taste sweet, sugary and cloyingly sweet, but it was actually very pleasant and refreshing.

It has a slight shine, which was all the excuse we needed to dust off the champagne glasses, which made everything even more chic!

The vegan and gluten-free cider is crisp and light (and is very tasty and easy to drink), plus it has fruity notes of berries alongside crisp pink apples and a hint of cotton candy – delicious!
